"I think Mr. Beckham was a very lucky boy today - that elbow had more intent than Keane's (there's no reason - other than intent - for an elbow to come above head height when running), and he didn't even get booked."

Did anyone see Arsenal vs Charlton highlights on Match of the Day?
Well Henry lashed out at the Charlton player with his elbow which the referee didn't do anything about, he deliberatly tried to hit the player after the ball had gone elsewhere, but in 2moro's papers we shall see Beckham all over the back pages...
Why?
Is Henry not a "very lucky boy" then Wookie?
Henry should have at least been booked (as he missed), but the intent was there.
However you see it, whatever punishment one gets should also apply to the other. If Beckham gets off with it, so should Henry. If Henry gets a ban, so should Beckham.
No wonder the FA can't get consistent refereeing, when they can't be consistent themselves.

Well thats a load of BS, the intent was there for everyone to see and he is lucky that there wasn't any contact.

Thierry Henry is bemused by the FA's decision to investigate his alleged "elbow" on Charlton's John Robinson at The Valley on Saturday.
This morning, the FA issued the following statement over the clash which happened in the first half of our 3-0 victory.
"In relation to an alleged use of the elbow involving Thierry Henry of Arsenal and John Robinson of Charlton Athletic, on Saturday, match referee Steve Dunn has confirmed that he did not see the incident in question. The FA will therefore investigate the incident further."
Henry responded to the news in an exclusive interview with Arsenal.com.
"The most important thing for people to know is that I did not elbow the guy in the face. If I touched him at all it was very slightly on the top of his shoulder. But there was no intention, I cannot stress that enough." he said. "But if the FA wants to see the tape there is nothing I can do.
"I can laugh about it because nothing happened, nothing at all. He was pulling my shirt and I just wanted to get him off me.
"Afterwards he came to shake my hand. If you have elbowed someone in the face do you think they would come over shake your hand. Me, I would not do that."
Robinson, speaking to Capital Radio on Monday said: "I can't believe they are turning this into something it isn't. They should let it go. If he had caught me I would have gone down. I think the FA should get on with something else."

Would Beckham get screwed if *he* said he did elbow Boywer?

It isn't.

This, I can tell you, is absolute BS from the FA.
I can't remember who the player was or what the offence was, but a few seasons ago, an Arsenal player did something and was booked by the ref. Subsequently, the FA decided that a booking was not enough, and handed the player a ban.
It's just more favouritism from the FA as far as I'm concerned. Though this time, I have to say that I see it more down to Beckham being the England captain than playing for Man U.
