Considering it occupies second place on the forum title, it sure is neglected in here. As a former fan of astrology myself, I thought people who were interested could chat about it in here (but please no Moon conspiracy theories).

Talking of the moon, did you know that Earth actually has two moons, and a third was thought to be discovered recently? (though further research showed it was space 'junk', a relic of the Apollo missions.

So, the universe. It's pretty big, ain't it?

If you've seen MIIB, it does pretty much the same at the end (without wanting to ruin it).

I also wonder, how can anything be endless? But I guess it's something we can never understand. Everything in our lives has a beginning and an end, be it a table, or life itself. So it would be impossible to imagine anything being endless.

I often ponder that whenever I'm deep in thought. I know it's an expression, but the mind literally boggles when you try to even comprehend the vastness of space. That's why I'm pretty sure there are other forms of life out there - it would be ignorant to think that we are the only life forms in the whole universe.

What's beyond? I just love thc losing scene of the original Men in Black, where the camera zooms out to reveal our galaxy, the whole of space etc until we are just a marble, being toyed with by higher beings. The whole thing made me chuckle and think at the same time - best bit of the film, that.

That's assuming that when the sun goes nova that humans all still live on Earth, and unless the sun goes in the next 100 years then I don't think we'll all be on Earth.

Why ? For starters NASA and ESA, and the Russian & Chinese & Japanese space programs are all researching new forms of engines for space craft. Cold Fusion is the current buzz thing and it's rumoured in many of the air industry journals that NASA is pretty close to a break through. At the moment the vast travelling times and fuels sources make massive exploration of the universe impossible. We can only send probes, and they're not that great in terms of moving the space program as a whole.

Establishing the ISS in orbit around earth was another great, but small step - it's a permenant station with multinational co-operation, and a great future launching platform for missions.

It's going to take a lot of work and money, but I believe that in 100 years, or sooner, mankind will be spread out just a bit more. Once we crack the secrets of faster space travel the door to the universe is open. Mars and the moon are the two obvious first colonies, with the obvious problem being resources (lack of them) to support life. All these hurdles can be overcome by science, but no one nation will do it. Like the ISS multi-national projects are the way forward. In 2010 NASA hopes to land on Mars with a manned craft. This'll be the first real achievment in the new era of space exploration.

Honestly, look at history, we've spent the last 500 years as a race exploring and probing the earth, only making tentative steps into Space in the last 50 years. With faster rates of technological development, rising economic levels, and a new interest in space, we could reach for the stars a lot sooner than we thought.

It will be explained, but there will be none of us there to learn.

We will be dead.

A thing that always gets me is that a human mind cannot comprehend infinite.

"Where does it end? It cant just go on forever?"

Hmm..

And even if we found the end of the universe,

WHAT IS BEHIND THE END?
