What you want m8 is a radeon 9700. Fine it might cost you a small horse, but it is the most daddy graphics card out at the moment!!!!

Alternativaly....

Go for the Sparkle GeForce 4 Ti4600 "Platinum" as it is a nice overclocked graphics card, but is not as good as the radeon one :D

Hmmm.

I have plans to upgrade my motherboard and CPU anyway. A nice Athlon 1800mhz or better will go down a treat at a very attractive price these days...

I was thinking about upgrading my motherboard a few weeks back, but It's bit too big a job for me. Besides now a GeForce 4 has been released for PCI users, I can just use that for a couple of more years, until I eventually decide it's time to get a new motherboard. By that time there will probably be a GeForce 6 and 7 card out.

AGP card sare much better (and cheaper I think0 probably better to upgrade your motherboard too, they can cost around £30-100 really, depending on what other stuff you have.

Yep, finally, you can find it here on SR. Not the most powerful GeForce 4 cards I think, but I don't care, I need something new and more powerful than my GeForce 2.

Also check to see what kind of slots your motherboard has, whether it's PCI or AGP. I only PCI slots, so only a select few 3D cards can be fitted to my computer, luckily a GeForce 4 is one of them. If you have AGP slot however, you'll be able to install most of todays 3D cards with little or no problem.
