"Sonic mega collection"

I don't know about any one else on here but i used to (and still do!!) love sonic.
Recently i heard about a game called sonic mega collection and wanted to get it, but after hearing the final list of games it put me off as i had allready owned/ played the games, but whilst looking through sites i found this(taken from total games.net)


"Details have been finalised for the up-coming Sonic Mega Collection game for the Nintendo GameCube. Similar to Sonic Jam on the Saturn, there will be a few extras aside from the games. These are:

• Two unlockable games – Flicky and Ristar
• Lock-on technology allows players to play as knuckles in Sonic 1,2 and 3
• Hidden secrets and unlockable Sonic material
• Fully customisable controls
• Artwork, TV adverts and animations to discover
• Elegant interface for ease of use"

so there's a bit more to the game and now an insentive for me to buy it

I hope Sonic Adventure 3 is better than Sonic 2 which was dissapointing!

According to some report somewhere (I can't remember where I read it), Sonic Adventure 3 is actually Sonic Adventure 1. It was a mis-understanding by Sega of America.

The GameCube will host two of them, namely Sonic Mega Collection and an unnamed new offering, with the GBA getting Sonic Advance 2.

Little is known about the games at present. Sonic Mega Collection seems likely to offer a compilation of classic Sonic games, and no doubt the new 3D sonic offering will feature the spiked one and pals roving the world in search of chaos emeralds. Again, as Sonic Advance and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle were the first games to use the much-trumpeted but little used GameCube/Game Boy Advance link cable, our guess is the new games will do so too. We'll let you know one way or the other over coming issues.



So what's this about an unsurity about the GameCube version (which was announced before any PS2 version was rumoured)?

I'm sure I heard that Sonic was Gamecube exclusive now SEGA are out of the console business.
