I would tend to agree with the two of you there,
bush does need to slow down and not dive in head first.
one wrong foot and it could spell disaster

for gods sake people, can't we have a frank discussion here without people playing the 'I find that offensive' card. Nobody has posted anything offensive in here at all , so why doesn't everyone stop going OTT about it. What he says IS true, about films I mean, it has little to do with the sept 11th disaster, but he has a valid point. We cannot allow bush to blind us with patriotism, while he and blair start something they may never be able to finish. Picking fights with countries like iraq is dangerous, and with al-quaeda now against us (aswell as many other extremist groups), it is more dangerous now than ever. We think we are so invincible, but 9/11 should have taught us that we are not. The muslim faith is the most prevalant in the world, if enough of them are turned against the west, we can never win. The assassination of Bin Laden is paramount, but going through Iraq is a bad move ....

But, although asking the people gives you a good general opinion of what people want, couldn't that be a downfall? About 95% of them would not want a war...and why would they? It wouldn't benefit them in any way, and as long as other countries are getting bombed, and not their own, then they have nothing to worry about. It does take a strong leader sometimes to go against the general opinion, and declare war. It's HOW he goes about doing it that could determine what type of leader he really is.

I belive that we should cleanse our own country of any bad-doing first. I mean, if you declare war on the world, then your own country should be a doddle to sort out. Except it isn't. And Tony Blair needs to do this, or his people won't believe in what he stands for anymore. He'll lose any respect the people had for him, and inevitably, lose his place as the Political Leader of the UK.

Well that's a good question.

For a start, If I were going to call war on Iraq I would make a statment to the UN.
and go with their desicion.
I would also ask what the poeple want.
that would give me more clarification on what is best for my country.

Also I would tread very carefully.
even with aprooval from the UN and the poeple I would still think very carefully about it.

Bush and blair should both be doing the same.
at the moment blair seems to be Bush's lap dog.
following him arround everywhere and agreeing with what ever bush's ideas are.

Tell me, what is your personal opinion on all this? What would YOU do, if you were Bush/Blair?

Sensitive days my @rse, we (Britian) need to direct Blair to the US, and lock the door behind us. Then maybe we can get a leader who does the best for the UK, and not for everyone else.

If he knows what his actions are and he's going to go ahead with his decisions, we (Joe 12-packs) can't do a lot to stop him.
