Saw this last night.

Need answers.

You know this was going to be a series, right? Well is the movie the whole thing condensed into a movie, or was it like the pilot show extended into a movie?

***SOME SPOILERS HERE - IF A FILM SO ODD CAN BE SPOILT?***

The thing is up until about half way I was worried, because I was following it just fine, then we had the return to Lost Highway character switching thing going on with Diane and Betty, which I was still fine with, until I tried to get the timeline straight in my head.

That's what really got me, you felt like you had gone back, as if to explain what had happened to 'Rita' - but you hadn't the director had split from his wife, for one thing.

And where the hell did the whole casting the actress thing slot in? It was just kind of there, entwined to a certain extent, but not nearly enough for me to get my tiny mind around.

And was the guy on the phone, the little dancing guy from Twin Peaks? His face sure did look familiar.

And Billy Ray Cyrus. Hur hur.

So Mulholland Drive. It made my head hurt, but I like that.

Yes but even if it makes no sense at all it's still really good

and just plain weird.

It even has miniature old people in it.

Exactly the reason I have no desire to see this film. I'm not Hercule Poirot, I don't want to solve a mystery, I just want to watch a film.

The closer I heard to an explanation was along the same lines as The Lost Highway, about how survival in Hollywood requires you to become someone else; so the entire first bit is Naomi Watts' dream of Hollywood success, when in reality she is a nobody with an unattainable crush on an actress. And I don't think the two acts need to correspond and follow from each other if the first is a dream.

Oh and this is on imdb, allegedly Lynch's clues to unlocking it:

David Lynch's 10 Clues to Unlocking This Thriller:
-Pay particular attention in the beginning of the film: at least two clues are revealed before the credits.
-Notice appearances of the red lampshade.
-Can you hear the title of the film that Adam Kesher is auditioning actresses for? Is it mentioned again?
-An accident is a terrible event... notice the location of the accident.
-Who gives a key, and why?
-Notice the robe, the ashtray, the coffee cup.
-What is felt, realized and gathered at the club Silencio?
-Did talent alone help Camilla?
-Notice the occurrences surrounding the man behind Winkies.
-Where is Aunt Ruth?

Glad I wasn't the only one.

Got to about an hour and a half into the film and I still didn't get what was going on.

Very strange stuff. But quite good none-the-less.

Dont forget the gratuitous lesbian stuff.
Or the screaming tramp bloke behind the dinner.

And what about Club Silencio? Or the key?

I don't get about 90% of this movie, but it's Lynch so that's ok
