Have any of you noticed that the game will only load if you have an Official Sony Playstation 2 controller inserted in port 1 ?
I tried (initally with a cheap PS2 pad then official PS1 pad) and could select anything on the language selection screen - some of you may have seen my post this morning about the faulty disc I thought I had, turns out YOU must use the official controller or you can't get past the initial language selection screen!
Also if you swap the controllers mid game it still won't recognise any controller being plugged in unless it is the Official Sony PS2 pad !

I'm sure this provoke comments and you will all tell me I am wrong but ...... that's the way it is with my PS2.

Ah, but I'm only vouching for Sony's products, not those other second-rate companies! ;-p

I did knock one of the motors out of alignment when losing at Tekken 3 (this was an original PS1 dualshock) so I do warn my friends if they start chucking it around.

But did you ever think that maybe the game won't work cos it needs the full analogue support of a DS2? I'm guessing not all the cheap knock-off controllers have pressure sensitivity on every button.

Well, I can see that point, but I have some issues with it...

1. When replacing a controller, I can't see why anyone would want to buy anything other than an official controller; anything else is completely inferior in every way.

2. I don't see how - accidents excluded - you can break a controller, apart from deliberately. I have been fairly heavy-handed with my controllers, and they always work perfectly well. I've never known a stick to break, a button to stop working... nothing. They're too solid and hardwearing.

Wookie, it is a bit of a con if your controller is broken and you have to buy a replacement.
Excellent game, I'm on thirs stunt on second film set, will hopefully have some time during this week.
I can't imagine what the stunts rated 9 and 10 out of 10 are like !

Very good point there Wookiee.

Anyway - yep - definately worth buying. I was planning waiting but the temptation was too much when I walked into EB with my loyalty card vouchers yesterday.

As every PS2 comes with an official controller, how is that a marketing con?
