Been looking at more reviews of Turok Evolution.

According to one reviewer, the Xbox version looks slightly better, but the Gamecube version has the better framerate.

You have your graphics, we'll have our smooth gameplay! So :-P :-P :-P to you! :-P

And then there was the PS2 version, which took the worst of both worlds and made them even worse! :-D

Anyway, enough about one reviewer's (which might turn out VERY controversial in here ;-D) opinion.
The Xbox version is out now, so I'd like to know what you all make of it.

Reviews so far say it's no Halo, but a great game in it's own right.
Mainly good, let down by the odd flaw or so.

Any of you played it yet?

Oh, and why the hell doesn't the XBOX version utilize the hard-drive and have a quick save?!
You die, and it's back the start of the level.
This could be the last Multi-format game I ever buy.
I want games which use the full power of the XBOX, and this game certainly does not.
I've only been playing it for a few hours and already I don't care about it.
I'll carry on.... maybe I'll warm to it....?

Oh, I forgot to mention that it feels very claustropobic.
The field of view seems limited and narrow.

My first impressions of Turok is that I don't like it.
More Turok Devolution than Evolution.
Makes me realize why Halo is a classic.
The water effects are virtually identical to the N64s.
The AI of the enemies borders on dumb@ss stupid - the phrase "sitting ducks" springs to mind.
Even though the gameworld is lush, there's no character, no feeling of immersion.
It's an FPS by numbers.
Going from one option screen to another is jerky.
It's plagued by annoying instant death syndrome.
Shooting enemies is unsatisfying (although the sniper weapons are okay).
All in all, so far I don't like it.
It doesn't feel right.
I might change my initial views, but I doubt it.
Maybe we've been spoilt with Halo?

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
