~Just a PC
It has an image that it is just a PC in diguse. This may not be true, but once the public get something into there heads, it is impossible to get it out. Microsoft didn't help the situation by having all that storage space on the console - like a PC has memory.
~By Microsoft
Anybody who has ever used a PC that has windows on will have cursed Bill Gates once because of it crashing. It's bad enough when you are in the middle of a battle on Unreal Tournament, but what about when you are approaching the final whistle on FIFA and it goes? Okay, so this might not happen, but I still wouldn' trust them after my strife with Microsoft
~Coffee Table
Look at the size of the darn thing for gods sake. If I didn't know better I would just think it was an overpriced coffee table. What you really don't want is a console that takes up half of the living room.
~No 'Mascot'
All the best developers have mascots. Nintendo have Mario and Zelda, Sega has Sonic, Sony has Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, but who has the X-Box got? Abe aside, they have no-one, and a mascot is what you really need to kick start your sales.
~Half Price
When First released, the X-Box was a massive £300, which fell to £200 a few months later. Now, as an attempt to pick up sales they have lower it another £40. Some may say it is competition, but I say it is desperateness.
~Control Bricks
The control pads, like the console itself, are huge. When are you ever going to need 3 contol sticks? it shows its hugeness when you have to press pause. With any other pad its simple. Not with the X-Box. You have to lift your hand to press it, a definate turn-off. How can you enjoy games if you have to think about the control pad all the time?

Ok, I'm sure I can work through them, giving my honest opinion.

It's no more of a PC than any other console, I'm sure if someone was planning on developing a Hard Drive for the GC (I assume you are a gamecube fan, seeing as you posted a similar topic in the PS2 forum) then you'd be raving about how good it is. Having a HDD does not make it a PC, those Tivo and Sky + boxes have them, are they PCs? Also, it's only retarded fanboys that think the Xbox is a PC in disguise, so it doesn't matter that they have that image permanently in their brains, nothing would change their mind anyway.
Yes, the console is made by microsoft, a PC company, and yes the proccessor is intel, but the GC is powered by ATI, a well known PC company, no?

But it won't. It's a console, not a PC. And as has been stated before, it's the software on the PC that makes it crash, I'm sure if you loaded a clean version of windows on, with nothing else at all, it'd be perfectly reliable, not very useful, but it wouldn't crash.
My PS2 has actually crashed on me once, so has my Xbox. That makes them equal. I can't comment on GC as I don't have one.

And you won't *get* a console that takes up half the living room. http://www.toms.area.btinternet.co.uk/console.jpg shows the the Xbox is bigger, but not by much. It fits very nicely on my entertainment unit, just above my amp, so it's fine for me. Coffee table? I think not.
Very childish statement you wrote there, congratulations, you ruined the rest of your post.

How can you call Crash Bandicoot a mascot? It's appeared on the Xbox, does that mean we can call it our mascot too? Cheers.
Also, I don't believe a Spyro game has shown up on the PS2 yet has it? Or I've missed it (probably missed it :-)) So that doesn't count either really. Nintendo and Sega are the only companies with *real* mascots.

I think I agree with you there. It does seem pretty desperate on Microsofts part. A typical person walking down the street might have to wonder why the Xbox is suddenly so cheap. But they might also look at the Gamecube, and wonder why the launch price for that is so cheap.

They're not huge! I trust you haven't actually taken the time to try and get used to the Xbox controller. But I find it to be the best out of the controllers I have used it so far. It hasn't got three control sticks either, which shows your ignorance. It has two control sticks, and a D pad - just like all the other next gen consoles. I find it perfectly easy to press pause, must be your small hands - get a controller S. I don't think about the controller, maybe your mind is unable of remembering where the buttons are?

It's the highest you can get without an extension. I oubt i'll get a GAD because I am only 14. No relevance, I know, but That's my excuse and I am sticking to it. and no, I don't work for Nintendo, Miyamoto hires me ocassionally for ideas though.
