Pokermon is set to rival the Japanese manga craze that started a few years back.
Pokermon are retired pokémon who play a violent form of the popular American card game “Poker”, this harmless game has turned into a life or death fight between two creatures and their distinctive powers. After pokémon were “sent to sleep” in the previous pokémon series, Trainers started to teach these drowsed creatures how to gamble and play a few variations of the popular card game, due to creatures small sized brains, trainers had to spend a grueling few years teaching the creatures the logical side of the game.
Although this lead to bad consequences, Pokermon started to get increasingly bad gambling problems, spending vast amounts of “poké tokens” at the casinos that are dotted around the pokermon world.
Fights started to break out, and soon enough the fighting type nature of Pokemon was arisen, but this time the Pokermon lived in “Playing Card” packets instead of Pokeballs due to lack of money, making the cardboard a cheaper alternative. Fights last roughly around 20 minutes, pokermon have to beat their opponent at a game of poker, the winner gets to effectively take the losers playing cards and leaves a nice surprise on the losers head – Poke-poo is extremely toxic and that’s the tragedy of this over-hyped game.
Trainers have to travel from town to town to capture the various wild and old Pokemon that still live in the wilderness, and train them up for Poker matches.
Trainers win medals for beating Casino Leaders in the various towns, the first being “Fat Tony” who gives you a Baloney sandwich and the rare “Pewter Ace” playing card.
Here we examine a pokemon Trainer called “Bash” take on another with his Pokermon “Pokerchu” let’s listen in
Bash: “Pokerchu Go!”
Cardboard playing card packet opens and pokerchu jumps out*B
Pokerchu: “Poka…Poka…Pokerchu!”
Bash: “Play Poker Pokerchu”
The pokermon play the game until eventually Pokerchu wins, takes the cards and excretes a large banana shaped poke-poo on the losers head.
There are two variations of Poker that the Pokermon have been teached these are: -
Normal Poker – As you can guess this is just the normal, standard game of the card game.
Strip Poker – This game is rarely used but sometimes in Casino leader matches, 3 games of normal poker are played, the Loser of each has to strip the wallpaper off its tiny cardboard room with its teeth.
Many Japanese parents (where the pokermon TV series has just been released) complained about their children becoming obsessive with gambling their hard earned pocket money at poker nights with a few friends, we admit the show can become an obsessive problem with the Japanese but its just a craze, it’ll go away.
