New from Nintendo, a game aimed at the teen market, Mario Disco. It's packed full of multiplayer laughs, as well as a single player 'story' mode.

The meat of the game is based on pressing buttons to the music to perform various dance moves. In four-player mode this can be hilarious as Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Peach and more Nintendo characters try to dance in formation to classics such as 'The Macarena' and Whigfelds 'Saturday Night'.

The better you dance, the more points you gather, who ever has most points at the end of the game is deemed the winner, though points can be traded in for special moves, which, if used correctly, can help you score big on the dance floor.

As well as the dancing there are other parts to the game too. 'Your Round' has you going to the bar to get the drinks in. Sounds easy? It's not! Using the c-stick you have to keep the tray balanced perfectly, whilst making your way across a packed dance floor. Often this stage can lead to the fighting game that helps you to win points. If you spill a drink on someone they will defend themselves, or indeed, if you bumb someone on the dance floor, and they spill their own pint, you'll be in trouble.

The fighting engine is rather polished, and each character has unique moves to help take down their opponents. It's similar to the SNES's Super Punch Out, with you able to dodge punches, and charge up to your special move.

The really funny thing about the game is that as you make more and more trips to the bar, the control becomes ever more difficult to represent how drunk your character is. You may have to take to the dance floor wit reversed controls, or fight whilst seeing double.

When put together it makes for a really entertaining game, especially the final round, 'Last Dance At The Disco'. Depending upon the number of points you have gathered you'll be able to pick yourself a partner for the last dance. Score poorly, and you could end up slow dancing with Bowsers ugly sister groping you. If you've got the most points though a choice of Nintendo's prettiest females will want to dance with you. If you're Mario, Peach could be yours, Donkey Kong, however would be more than happy with Candy Kong.

Mario Disco is THE multiplayer game to have, making Mario Party look like a child's picnic.

Great stuff! :D

I still can't see how they believed it to be real though....

Then again, I spose we have to expect a game like this to pop-up from Nintendo one day with the success of the Dancing Stage game on the PS and Samba de Amigo on the Dreamcast.

Who knows.....
