Well, to cut a long story shorter than the tail on a Manx cat, I took my first belt test in Taekwondo today and passed. Pretty intense testing, but strangly fun at the same time.
It feels so good to have an orange belt now. Yeah, I know some of you already have higher belts in this or other martial arts, but I don't care, I just feel good that I got this one and I'm on the long road (4 years) to getting a Black Belt.
Hong Kong Phooey eat your heart out!
My mate does whin chung (however you spell it) and it works well when he spars against us boxers
If you wanted to be hard, then you chose the wrong martial art.
Ah, crap.

belts mean nothing, action means everything
"like a finger pointing to the moon, look not at the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory"
no charge for that.
seriously though, well done chief. I need to pull my finger outta my *ss and take my next grading. Want to really perfect my current syllabus first though...
> You have an orange belt in Tae-Kwon-Do? Not while i was doing it.
They introduced Orange before Yellow for the UK and US a while ago now. Some organisations have taken it up and some haven't, but then I'm going to a club that belongs to the organisation that has a movie star and one of the most famous Grand Masters around, AIMAA.
They change the rules every so often it seems, such as doing 1 Steps instead of 3 Steps for the first 2 belts.
