I used to think you typed in the name of the drive for it to change:
..whatever the command is but instead I get:
Invalid Drive Name
*me slaps PC*
Invalid Drive Name or bad command
I really do hate DOS, I didn't get any documentation apart from the text files on the CD which are too long and boring for me to sit and read :)
ooh, also, I tried installing it through Windows and it just says they're all DOS batch files...so
I tried the DOS commands above in MS-DOS Promt and it changed the drive name..etc but said it needs to be run in the startup DOS mode thingy.
So if anyone can be bothered to write a few simple things fr me to do down here i'd be very grateful :)
or
/server io.mine.nu
The latter is faster.

run "nano -w /etc/fstab" and make sure the first line (or probably not the first, but the / line anyway) is pointing at the correct partition.
y'know, your very kind to be helping me out with this.
it set debian as the default so I changed it to deb1..no idea why.
it works? thats good then :) it's got a problem though, it's not mounted properly so it takes 5 or so minutes to boot up...won't take long to re-install anyway.
Is this after the install? deb1 is an odd hostname, did you choose that?
ok, it says:
tom@deb1~$:
-tom is the user account it asked me to setup
-deb1 is the format/partion name
i'll have a little look around the net for some more info as i'm pretty sure i'm close to boring you if I havn't already :)
