Playing a GBA demonstration model in Curry's the other day I could not help, but laugh at what people class as a good hand-held the GBA is rubbish when playing yet another Mario game it appeared to me that the screen was exactly the same quality as my Gamegear infact take away the Ninty badge and you would not be able to tell the difference.

I mean are Ninty really saying that this a a next gen hand-held when the screen technology is a decade old, if you had a modern PDA with a screen like that you would take it back for a refund.

Then there are the games they look like SNES games not the PSone games we were promised. What a rip-off, and they expect you to pay £34.99 for a GBA game.

GBA is the best handheld console i have seen yet. The games are a cross between an N64 and Snes, take Tony Hawks 2 for example.

The GBA is'nt "rubbish" just because it has'nt got a Sony logo splatted all over it does'nt mean you have to call it "rubbish"

The backlight would of helpped loads, but battery power would be sucked out of it.

Also just because it is 32bit doesnt mean it can be as good as Psone because it isnt just the 32bits in the psone that runs the games like that its a load of other stuff, i dont know what im not an expert in computers but im sure someone can explian it all.

Im happy with the games so far, then again i only have 4, but each one is what i expected. I wouldnt care if they just released all the snes games on as i loved the snes.

I take it you havent got one and thats why your moaning about it, get it and you will change your mind.
Reminds me of a friend who couldnt afford perfect dark and he said he played it and it wasnt any good, this was when i had it and said it was good. He then got the game and it was the best thing ever.

He could proberly could of made me buy superman 64 if he wantted me to at the rate he was going on about it.

Well, I admit it's no XBOX, but, then what did you expect. How is it average? You show me a more powerful handheld, with such a large catalogue of quality games, and I'll show you a frenchman who's had a bath.

How can anyone be truly satisfied with the GBA it is average machine with average technology. The screen is a big issue PDA have screens the can display a resolution of 320 pixels or even higher why should we not expect the GBA to match that or infact better it, to use the old screen technology that has gone before is just cost cutting and an easy way to maximise profit.

You can always expect more, but hardly anyone uses their GBA as much as they use their proper consoles. It's nice to have the best of the SNES back in portable form. That's all I was expecting, really, and that's what I'm getting, so I'm happy.

True, the GBA is "better" than what has gone before. But I think the point Techno Freak is trying to make is that we expected even more from the GBA.

And I don't remember anyone ever saying that the GBA had next gen screen technology.

It is more powerful, isn't it?
It's got more quality games, hasn't it?

Yes yes yes yes.

There not the same. They may look similar, but then the n64 and the SNES looked similar to the megadrive, didn't they?
