I love this forum; such community spirit, and you guys are always eager to help out another! Which leads me on nicely to my question...

Is there any way of making a downloadable 'Desktop Shortcut'? So like an icon, a name and a URL link all integrated into one shortcut that users can download and save in their Desktop?

I've never come across it before so I'm not sure if its possible but I'd still apprecaite some help on the matter.

Thanks in advance! : )

Certain illicite websites have a habit of doing this, using pretty much Twain's method.

Thanks for testing it, Whooo. I didn't bother testing it. That method was just a pure guess!

I'm sure you can do it by making a VB program. Ask the nice people at Programmer's Heaven:

I'm not sure if it will work, but try creating the shortcut. A shortcut has the extension .lnk

Then, just make a hyperlink to it using

I don't know of an actual straight to deskstop download, but the closet thing I know to that is making a .ico file (look further down the topics list) so when the site is bookmarked it can be dragged onto the desktop making a link shortcut on the desktop.

But you probably already knew that...
