Does anyone read edge occasionally or regularly ?,
personally i think its a bit of a rip of being £4, which is why i only buy occasionally,
one thing that annoyed me this month though, was their review of Mario Sunshine, they basically slated it the whole way through, from the camera angles, to the graphics and the size and number of levels, and saying how its taken six years work and its doesnt really offer anything new over mario64, yet they still gave it 9/10 at the end.

ps. Capcom vs Snk Eo only got 3/10 i was gonna get this but now im not so sure,

You don't happen to know what happened to that controller Capcom were surpose to be making for the Gamecube do ya? I was just thinking if they were gonna make a new controller more suited to beat-em-ups or sommin'!

well, the EO stands for "Easy operation" which is why they've made special moves available via one direction on the c stick, but i agree i prefer to use button combos,

ps, the d-pad is actually bigger on the gc than the GBA , which i find is okay for playing beat em ups like tekken

I don't work for Edge.

Although I think the review for CVSEO was spot-on. The controller face buttons are an irregular size making it difficult and cumbersome. The D-Pad is awfully small and uncomfortable for the 2D beat-em-up and lastly, the C-Stick can be used to pull off Special Moves.

Now call me an old-school gamer, but doesn't this strip the game of any skill required. Where's the fun in moving the stick to the 'left' to pull off a Dragon Punch?

Want a decent 2D beat-em-up? Stick to the Dreamcast (which has loads) or the PlayStation 2.

Whilst the GC control-pad maybe comfortable for some things. Beat-em-up's isn't one of it's strong points.

their (edge)points about the controller only giving u the option of 1 big green button or 1 small red button arent really that well founded because if you count the x and y buttons then there are 4 pretty much the same as the ps2

Do you work for Edge?

Is it a good mag and worht buying?
If like you say they concentrate on why it should not be a 10, why be neggative about a great game, be hapy a new game is coming out that gets over a 6, lol and the GC controller is v. comfortable and beat em ups are not really very hard to play with, did you play with the lights out, hands up you a55? only jokin, everyone has an opinion, i just disagree with yours, lol

Right. The reason it looked like the review was a lambasting of Miyamoto-san's latest Mario game was because the review focussed on the aspects of why Mario Sunshine didn't deserve a 10, which many were predicting.

As for Capcom vs SNK: EO. Have you tried playing a beat-em-up on a GameCube controller? It's not a pleasant experience that's for sure. Hence the low score.
