*shrugs*
Guess it's just not my sort of film. Didn't laugh once, didn't find it involving or tragic or touching.
I fell asleep right after Chas slitting his wrists and couldn't be arsed to go back and see what I missed.
The acting was excellent, well written, well directed but I just didn't care about any of it.
*shrugs again*
Happens sometimes
"Laugh you idiot! Man fall down hole! Classic hilarity - laugh you moron! DON't YOU GET IT?! It's hiLARious! LAUGH, FOOL!"
I got confused. Not even the faintest glimmer of a smile.

Here's the thing.
Me and my sister turned it off after about an hour. Then we realised there was nothing that bad about it and tried again, then turned it off again.
Probably my worst film, but for no reason I can place. It just sucked.
And I should have laughed, I KNOW I should have. But I just didn't care.
Very weird.

Gosford Park was magnificiant! Tennebaums wasn't quite up to that standard, but still well worth a watch. Then again, when I gave the DVD to my Mum to try she hated it - really is one of those love or hate films. Rushmore was the same, though I never quite got into that one.
I like clever films, hell I sat through 'The Man Who wasn't there' the other night and throughly enjoyed it. Royal Tennebaums seemed neither intelligent or intresting to me though.
Actually, no, I just didn't find it funny in the most part.
There were a couple of laughs, but I guess I'm not clever enough for it either. ;o)
