1) Diana's death/funeral
2) End of World War 2
3) The Coronation/Jubilee
4) September 11
Sadly, Diana's death was voted, by a massive majority (about 50%) as being the most important moment in history.
Now, to me, thats just plain wrong ! Why ? She wasn't a Princess, she did little for the country or the Royal Family and a majority of people didn't really care about her until she died and the Sun suggested to them they mourn.
The end of World War 2 marked the ending of the greatest conflict of those times, millions had died, whole countries were ruined, but the allies had won and saved the way of life in Britain as well as elsewhere.
The Coronation ? Again, this just has no bearing on the country except in terms of tradition and tourism. Anyone could have been crowned and history would have continued much as it did.
Finally September 11, which received very few votes. Yes, very few. Are people completely stupid or what here ? Last September changed the entire Western World and the course of history. It led to the current war againt terrorism, improved security all over the place, - so much will stem from that one act that I believe that in a 100 years from now it will be seen as the defining moment of this century.
But no, Diana's death is all that matters...........god this country really depresses me sometimes...... we might as well scrap the Government because people pay more attention to what the Sun and the Mirror tell them they should be doing, along with the rest of the media.

I agree. The Sun and other low brow rubbish is read by the vast majority of people and they swallow every word. It just goes to show how brain-dead and ignorant some people can be......
> Sod the Royal's...Diana was the ONLY decent one...
If she'd have been a member of the Royal Family that is...
