I was getting a bit bored of it by the end of the third disk, but the 4th disk more than made up for it! It was so beautiful and a fantastic finish to the game!
I just want to play Shenmue 3 NOW!!!
It better NOT be an X-Box exclusive or I'll cry!
:)
I've seen on-line somewhere for just under £30, but I don't really want to spend something like that on a game as i've been spending quite a bit on games recently, and I should be a bit more carefull really.
I can't seem to find it pre-owned anywhere (not for a fair price anyway) and I don't like buying off E-bay.
The search goes on....
I think it would be sooooo great if Sega brought back the Shenmue Passport, was I the only person who really loved that feature? I hope not cos I think it ruled, just looking at the shops in the game and finding out about the history, and seeing who is the top ranking in the world for the forklift races every day! That was really cool, and seemd to make Shenmue into more of a community game!
I think that every Sega fan deep down would prefer it if the rest of the Shenmue series did come out on a Sea machine, but that is just not going to happen, if we are all honest I think we can say that the Shenmue seies is best suited to XBox, because the most can be made out of the game!
Thanx.
Not only does the box say 'Only on Xbox' but the game has been in development for just over 1 and a half years and it still hasn't been released. Like with GTA3 the Xbox will eventually get the franchise but not for another couple of years, for the GameCube version of Shenmue 2 to be released you would be looking at late next christmas to early 2004 and to be honest I have my GCSE's to take before then and I will also have a job. I know that may seem like nothing to you but the point I am trying to make is, by 2004 I will have enough money and time to buy a GameCube and I will be getting one after my GCSE's have finished along with an Motorcross Bike. Which ever console Shenmue 3 appears on I will own that console, who knows I might even get a PS2 again to get GTA The Vice, by the time 2004 comes around the PS2 will probably be under £100 and the game will have gone Platinum.
Over the last few weeks I have realised that the next 8 months are some of if not the most important months in my life and I want to come out with good grades at the end of it. Planning ahead into 2004 is something I would have done a few years back (just with a different date), but by the time 2004 comes around I will have a career in mind and hopefully a good set of resluts behind me, this in turn will enable me to choose the path I want to go down. Once I get a job I will get a GameCube so that way I can enjoy the best platform games and the best First Person shooters, racers and 3rd person action games. Whether Shenmue 2 comes out on the GameCube as well is just an added bonus as that way Shenmue 3 will be available on either the Xbox and/or the GameCube, it would also show that Sega are serious about the future Shenmues and that they want to carry on the story into the latter chapters (16 in all so who knows where I will be when the 16 comes out).
At the moment it looks set that the Xbox will have Shenmue 2 as an exclusive for a while but it me be ported to the GameCube (although there hasn't been any official information from Sega and no solid evidence of this). As long as one of the consoles gets Shenmue 2 then I think we can guarentee that there will be a 3rd in the series, but it would make more sense to keep the series on the Xbox because that way they can carry the save over and utilise the Hard Drive for extra in-game functions. With Xbox Live launching shortly after the release of Shenmue 2X on the Xbox, Sega will probably do what they did with Shenmue 1 and enable an online service where you can upload and download data that can be swapped and shared with others gamers around the world. If developers are going to use Xbox Live as they discussed then we will hopefully be able to download extra in-game functions to the Hard Drive and then use them back through the game, just imagine the possibilities of that with Shenmue 3!
One last thing, doesn't the title Shenmue 2X make you think at all? I don't think the 'X' is there to add a bit of character to the title, it is there for a reason! As with Tony Hawks 2X which was a port (and a very good one at that) the title will be Xbox exclusive, but who knows what the future will hold?
> Only on XBOX - excellent! :)
> A strong sign that Shenmue III will be coming to XBOX for sure!
Yup, I'm really looking forward to being able to play this game on MY xbox!
A strong sign that Shenmue III will be coming to XBOX for sure!
This picture from EBgames shows the "Only on XBOX" sign on the Shenmue II box.

If you think about it the Shenmue series has VAST gameworlds, dialogue, characters. The xbox can give the series some new features to improve the expericance: -
Hard Drive - Allows Bigger Gameworlds, and faster loading times
Graphical Capabilitys - By far superior to any other console, allows the game to be expressed for its graphical beauty.
Sound - Shenmue has great effects and music, Dolby Digital 5.1 would make you feel part of the game
Controller - Similar to the DC, Obvious reasons
DVD - Holds 4.7GB of gaming, Obvious Reasons, Stops games being spread across multiple discs.
They are just a few of the reasons. I am not saying the GC is a bad console or anything, just the fact that the Shenmue series would be better suited to the xbox.
