Imports are not always inferior. Look at the Japanese versions of games like Dead or Alive 2 and all those great games you can't get in this country.
Just because a game is released in one country first, doesn't mean it's automatically going to get better for a later release somewhere else. Another bonus is being able to play all those games that have been slowed down and bordered for their UK release in all their full screen, full speed glory. At least the dreamcast goes someway to helping this by including a 60khz mode, but to get the same effect on the playstation needs...you guessed it! A cheat cartridge and an import copy of the game.
As for Cheat cartridges, why stop people being able to have fun with their games. There are lots of interesting (and not very useful) cheats that you can use, like walking through walls into the 'back' of 3D game graphics and finding hidden rooms or getting interesting graphical effects from games characters, imagine being able to make mario walk around with big puffy hands and bulging eyes! If you know your stuff it's possible to do.
But they are not official thereby it's not as good as the official controller. Cheat Cartridges are 3rd party hacking devices, allowing you to hack into a game, churning out every cheat you know of, without breaking a sweat? What are you up to with these things, why buy import when you have a better version of the game, why buy third party hardware, when you have the official produts that never delete or break whenever you use them.
Official products are always the ones to go for, for quality but for the poorers of gamers, who want to complete a game in one day or to use your money for something unreliable.
Besides, Action Replay cartridges let you play import games. Or have I said that somewhere before?!
However Generally you are best buying the Pad designed for the System.
As for Track and Field...doesnt it have a built in mode that stops autofire working????
The Action Replay is Fun as with any cheats built into a game...aslong as you try to do the Game the way it was intended First. And should be used only as a last resort...however, cheats can be good, sometimes extending the lastability of a game, to beyond the normal levels.
Anyway, I cheated to get through most of the game, and although I enjoyed the game a lot, it was boring, and I quickly stopped playing it.
Excatly two weeks ago, I pulled it out agin after talking about it on here. I made myself promise I wouldn't cheat at all.
Warcraft 2 has now shot up the offical Grix charts, and is currently risiding in the top ten games ever. Much better than C&C.
Morale? Games are much more enjoyable without cheats, even though they are very hard to resist. So don't use them, and play on the hardest setting. Then you will truly realise what it is like to play a game.
By the way, cheat cartrages are ok depending on how you use them. For instance getting invicibility or whatever is sad and skilless!
Finding secret levels that the developers didn't have time to finish and/or getting new characters or a funny glitch like that isn't so bad. I used a cheat cartrage to get a Mew.
