In my view they should be taken off the Market. It completly spoils the fun and competivness of a game. I have a friend who always uses a turbo controller for games like Track and Field and he always wins, and then he thinks he is the best at the game. When he is not, the controller is doing all the work for him, all he is doing is holding down buttons. Also cheat codes on Action Replay ruin games, like always Special on Wrestlemania 2000. With Turbo and cheat cartridges you always know you are going to win, so what is the point in them. I dont mind the cheat cartridges if they are used just for passing a level that you cant pass, but if you use them all the time there is no point at all in playing the games becuase you are cheating. My friende and i usually have Track and Field tornaments and we never win because my friend cheats all the time and the rest of us are all getting fed up with him. I think that Cheat controllers and Cheat controllers should be completly taken off the market and the money should be used in making more games. Is anyone else in my posistion?. Does anyone use Turbo oftinley, because if you do there is only one word in my view to describe you, Cheater. It is much more fun to play games using your ow ability in playing them and not using a turbo controller, it is much more fun to use the controllers that do not have Turbo Fire.

...and as for playing import games.

Imports are not always inferior. Look at the Japanese versions of games like Dead or Alive 2 and all those great games you can't get in this country.

Just because a game is released in one country first, doesn't mean it's automatically going to get better for a later release somewhere else. Another bonus is being able to play all those games that have been slowed down and bordered for their UK release in all their full screen, full speed glory. At least the dreamcast goes someway to helping this by including a 60khz mode, but to get the same effect on the playstation needs...you guessed it! A cheat cartridge and an import copy of the game.

I would disagree that unofficial products are any worse than the official ones. If you buy a very cheap controller or steering wheel then you will always get what you pay for, if you buy a more expensive third party controller (and I don't neccessarily mean more expensive than the official one) then you may find that it improves on the original. Mad Catz stuff is pretty good quality and not badly priced.

As for Cheat cartridges, why stop people being able to have fun with their games. There are lots of interesting (and not very useful) cheats that you can use, like walking through walls into the 'back' of 3D game graphics and finding hidden rooms or getting interesting graphical effects from games characters, imagine being able to make mario walk around with big puffy hands and bulging eyes! If you know your stuff it's possible to do.

Officail products are usually better, but that does not mean that all third party peripherals are bad, Ive got 2 Scorpion light guns for the Playstation, theyre Cheap but they do there job.. and in no Time I was playing Point Blank2 with freinds. For the price of an Officail Namco LightGun, I picked up 2 scorpions and the game...I was a happy boy. Besides which I found the Namco gun to be too big for my liking??? Anyone with similar experiences???

Turbo controllers are a cheap, rip off from the normal controllers. I've mainly seen un-official N64 controllers with them, and previously used on the SNES. But it's a bit of a easy way to complete the game, and getting a unreachable high score.

But they are not official thereby it's not as good as the official controller. Cheat Cartridges are 3rd party hacking devices, allowing you to hack into a game, churning out every cheat you know of, without breaking a sweat? What are you up to with these things, why buy import when you have a better version of the game, why buy third party hardware, when you have the official produts that never delete or break whenever you use them.

Official products are always the ones to go for, for quality but for the poorers of gamers, who want to complete a game in one day or to use your money for something unreliable.

Banning things is not the way to solve the problem. Everyone should have the chance to cheat if they want, otherwise it's a form of censorship. Don't think of using a cartridge as cheating, just think of it as adjusting the skill level to suit your needs.

Besides, Action Replay cartridges let you play import games. Or have I said that somewhere before?!

Well I think 3rd Party Peripherals are a Good Thing, However on Multiplayer Games Everyone who plays Should have the same type of controller as far as is possible...otherwise it isnt truely competative...or fun.

However Generally you are best buying the Pad designed for the System.

As for Track and Field...doesnt it have a built in mode that stops autofire working????

The Action Replay is Fun as with any cheats built into a game...aslong as you try to do the Game the way it was intended First. And should be used only as a last resort...however, cheats can be good, sometimes extending the lastability of a game, to beyond the normal levels.

That's the most convincing argument I have ever seen in this forum. Well done. What game are you going to choose for your gameaday?

Ages ago, I brought Warcraft 2, it was the third game I had on Cd, after Sam and Max, and Duke Nukem 3D.

Anyway, I cheated to get through most of the game, and although I enjoyed the game a lot, it was boring, and I quickly stopped playing it.

Excatly two weeks ago, I pulled it out agin after talking about it on here. I made myself promise I wouldn't cheat at all.

Warcraft 2 has now shot up the offical Grix charts, and is currently risiding in the top ten games ever. Much better than C&C.

Morale? Games are much more enjoyable without cheats, even though they are very hard to resist. So don't use them, and play on the hardest setting. Then you will truly realise what it is like to play a game.

What's that supposed to mean? They won't make games if they stop making cheat cheat cartrages.

By the way, cheat cartrages are ok depending on how you use them. For instance getting invicibility or whatever is sad and skilless!

Finding secret levels that the developers didn't have time to finish and/or getting new characters or a funny glitch like that isn't so bad. I used a cheat cartrage to get a Mew.
