Anyway, the winner gets a erm... malteser*.
Go go go!
*Winner will not actually get a malteser, I can't afford it.
Sam & Max to return
Web posted on 28/8/02 The lovable cartoon hound and sarcastic rabbit are to return, in an all-new LucasArts adventure on PC!
LucasArts graphic adventures developed something of a reputation in the 1990's, and although more recent efforts have perhaps fallen short of the high benchmark they themselves have set, things are certainly about to get better. LucasArts have today announced that a sequel to the hit adventure Sam & Max Hit The Road is in the works, and will be released on PC in 2004. The 1993 classic is generally regarded as one of the finest graphics adventures ever made, so a lot is expected of the 'popular madcap dog and rabbity thing', as LucasArts themselves so succinctly put it.
"Sam & Max Hit The Road is a classic and as close to being a signature game as any LucasArts has ever done," said LucasArts president Simon Jeffery. "The Sam & Max sequel, much like the recently announced Full Throttle II, perfectly complements LucasArts' renowned adventure game legacy and lends further support to the company's commitment to investing in and developing more of our original properties." What he failed to mention was that the first game was hilarious, and if the sequel isn't at least as good, we'll come round to his house and burn him down to the ground.
No details yet on the sequel, but both Sam (the dog) and Max (the rabbit) will return as the Freelance Police in a 'wild world of screwy and vaguely quixotic missions.' LucasArts also promise 'nerve-jangling action, brain-busting puzzles and the kind of easygoing banter one might expect from a talking dog and a naked, hyper-kinetic bunny.' It's clear the humour of the first game was not lost on their press officer. Co-director of the first game, Michael Stemmie, will return to direct the sequel.
More info and hopefully screenshots of the Sam & Max sequel when we squeeze it out of LucasArts' cold, dead bodies. You can still get hold of the original on PC, along with another classic LucasArts adventure, Day of the Tentacle by clicking here and paying us £12.99.

Yup. That'll be the bit. I think I remember magnets. It really was a long time ago though, for me, anyway.
