The "Nintendo Games" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Mario Sunshine: Because it's the proper sequel to Super Mario 64. Because all other Mario games have been excellent. Because it is the type of game I love most. (And I already have claimed it, haha!)
Eternal Darkness: Because it still feels like a Nintendo game, but with a creepy storyline, and different paths to take. (Already claimed)
StarFox Adventures: Because Rare's best games are in this style, and they've been working on this forever. Also, Arwing sections. (Already claimed)
Resident Evil: Because I've never played it before. I played the one on the N64 briefly, but I look at the video's and screenshots, and I get scared. I'll probably scream when playing this. I'm not a girl. (Already claimed)
Bomberman Generations. Because Bomberman was the greatest multiplayer game ever. Because this tries to recapture that. Because it has a quest mode where you blow stuff up. Because it might be out in November.
Sega Soccer Slam: Because football is a great sport, and this has made it more fun. Because multiplayer games are most fun.
Beach Spikers: Because I like multiplayer games. Because it's a goo dgame. I'm not a pervert.
Super Monkey Ball 2: Because the original is fantastic. Because this has MORE mini-games. Because the single player mode has been improved, and made HARDER!
Metroid Prime: Because it's Metroid. I don't like FPS much, but because this is an adventure, it should still rule.
Legend of Zelda: Because it's a Zelda game. If they can keep the feeling of all the other games, with the new look, it will be a great adventure.
Doshin the Giant: Because when I first saw a movie of him emerging from the water I thought that his belly-button was a willy. Because it's different, whilst reminding me of Populus.
Mario Party 4: Because button mashing mini-games are fun. Because it has NEW mini-games compared to MP2.
Wario World: Because Wario is one of Nintendo's greatest creations. Because in appearance it reminds me of Luigi's Mansion.
Star Wars Bounty Hunter: Because it sounds excellent. Because I love Star Wars. Because I thought up the idea for a game like this years ago, and finally someone has made it.
Others I might consider, if, like, I get rich:
WWE Wrestlemania X8: Because wrestling games have been fun in the past... But this is alleged to be different.
Die Hard: Because they've talked it up well... But FPS isn't my genre, so it will have to be great.
Turok Evolution: Because dinosaurs rule... But again, FPS.
Disney's Magical Mirror starring Mickey Mouse: Because Malibu and Georgia would like it... But they won't get to if it gets sucky reviews.
Smuggler's Run- Warzone: Because I don't have a racing game, and this sounds fun... But I tire of typical racing games quickly
Burnout 2: Because this is one of the better racers coming to the Cube... But again, I don't overly like the genre.
Then looking further into 2003 we have:
Kameo: Elements of Power: Because it's Rare doing monster collecting and manipulating stuff.
Animal Leader/ Cubivore: Because it's different, and cubey.
Animal Crossing /Forest: Because it's the kind of game you can dip into for half an hour or so whenever you feel like it.
Harvest Moon - A Wonderful Life: Because I've found the earlier games very enjoyable, almost relaxing to play.
Skies of Arcadia Legend: Because I love this type of RPG. Because Grix is a good salesman.
Namco Starfox: Because it's the proper sequel to Lylat Wars.
Soul Calibur 2: Because it's the sequel to one of the best fihting games around, allegedly... But I'm not a big fan of fighting games.
Phantasy Star Online: Because Phantasy Star was the first RPG I ever played and it rules... But I'd prefer Phantasy Star Offline.
Then there are the Mario Karts, Golfs and Tennis', but we've yet to get any indication of when we'll get them.
Then there are the games I've forgotten about.
Then there are the ones that come out of nowhere, and are really good.
Plus others which you don't really look forward to, then when they come out, they grab you somehow!
Just think how long it took to get this number of quality games on the N64? We really are spoilt for choice over the next year or so. Then will it keep getting better?
pray for me won't you?
After a severe games shortage this summer (after playing all 5 of my games to death, I've even found myself pleading with my Xbox owning friend for a temporary swap...), I'm looking forward to September.
Turok - I really want an FPS and this one is looking particularly great.
Timesplitters 2 - another neat looking FPS. Different enough to Turok to be worth getting as well. It also has a level designer. :-)
Resident Evil - classic series, lovely graphics, and the next 2 installments will retail for 15 pounds each! :-)
Mario Sunshine - Sequel to Mario 64, and after seeing the NGC DVD footage...
Eternal Darkness - This game has been hugely praised. I'm trusting reviews on this one! :-)
Bomberman Generations - not sure when this one is released, but the Snes version has been a HUGE hit on the school computer emulators.
More multiplayer fun.
Soccer Slam - another multiplayer based game.
Starfox - a Zelda style adventure coming from Rareware + it's huge + it has Spaceship sections + it has lovely graphics.
What more could you want?
Metroid Prime - Not quite the Super Metroid 3D I was hoping for, but I suppose nothing could've lived up to my imagination! :-)
Should be good - Nintendo's own take on an FPS.
After Christmas...
Not sure. I'll take it one season at a time! :-)
Also could you just answer a question about it, i heard rumors that to control bots in multiplayer you have controls like in star wars using the d - pad and also you can become that bot and use him to walk around.
Meka, how dare you claim so many great titles before they're even out!
*goes red with envy*
Ones i will get, depending if i can get the money.
Mario Sunshine - Mario what can i say.
StarFox Adventures - looks great, rare developed it.
Metroid Prime - looks good love metriod games so far and it looks a bit like a shooter
Legend of Zelda - Zelda magic and you wont find it in any other game.
Die Hard - Shooters i love them and the graphics are good, fires have there own engine.
Turok Evolution - shooter and also loved the series on the N64, some pics go look a bit blocky though.
Phantasy Star Online - online, brill idea, heard nothing bad about it really.
Games i will play first and/or learn a bit more about before deciding
Eternal Darkness - nintendo but i saw the vid and didnt like the look so much, despite the things i heard about thousands of polygons in each character.
Resident Evil - this was a must have of mine until i played Resi Evil 2, if the controls are better ill get it, if not ill buy resi evil 0 just for the hell of it.
Bomberman Generations - since the end of the snes ive never been impressed by it, plus the shots dont look that good.
Super Monkey Ball 2 - just got to play it first as ive never played a game with a monkey in a ball before
Wario World - doesnt look that good, too plain.
WWE Wrestlemania X8 - ive gone of westleing games due to the one player mode, get that sorted ill buy it second hand.
Disney's Magical Mirror starring Mickey Mouse - um no.
Burnout 2 - got the first one and i dont think il buy it if its the same with only more tracks and cars.
Namco Starfox - will have to be good seeming as Rares one will be released first
Soul Calibur 2 - if i get a fighting game, SSBM not included, this will be it, as long as its very good.
Beach Spikers - maybe, also was the goo dgame mistake because you were drooling at the thought of it lol.
Wario World
Mario Sunshine
Mario Party 4
Doshin
and a Wavebird
And at Christmas...
Super Monkey Ball 2 (a real must-have game, I actually want this more than Mario Sunshine)
Phantasy Star Online
Skies of Arcadia (Grix really convinced me)
And thanks to SR I've already got Starfox on waiting.
GC owners have happy times ahead!
