It sounds like he's on to something here. It makes a good read.

ONE online game for GC. I'd hardly call that an online "Plan".
Oh and in case you're wondering why the topic is titled "are MS idiots" is because they are er-nos words and they just rang through my head while I read the article.
This wasn't a topic to prove er-no wrong or to show that MS bigshots have better plans that their competetiors, or indeed anythin stupid like that. Come to think of it the title is very misleading, this was meant to be a topic about Online.
Whoops.

Nintendo have everything well organised and setup for online gaming, with the imminent release of Phantasy Star Online in Japan. It's not like Nintendo to rush things, and when they finish it, you can bet it'll be done properly. Nintendo don't wish to develop games for online, but with the backing and loyalty from SEGA and others, Nintendo won't be left behind.
I'm content with Nintendo's plans. I trust them.
> I'm content because I don't give a rats a*se about online gaming :)
Pfft.
MS has sold LIVE to me aswell, i'm gonna get it when it comes out - looks set to be one of the most organised console online network ever.
Nintendo online i beleive would'nt be that good, i've always seen the GC as an Offline platform and their online plans seem very vague.

I'm content because I don't give a rats a*se about online gaming :)
Besides, after reading a certain topic in the Nintendo forum, I suspect that Nintendo do have plans, just not anything on the scale of xbox live, and not until it's full rooster of multiplayer games arrive.
> Yep, Nintendo's online plans are shockingly vague, but Nintendo have never really been into online plans, so no-ones THAT surprised.
I am actually disapointed in Nintendo for not pushing it's console into the online area. GC deserves decent online plans and I am also surprised at how most Nintendo fans are content with their next gen system offering nothing in this key area.

They're just keeping their options open for the minute.
Besides, offline games is what they do best and, in my opinion, do better than anyone!
> Ok. It's clear that MS have done almost everything right with their online plans.
I agree, I will work on getting my Dad to get Broadband over the next few months. I really feel MS have sold Xbox Live to me, and the proper marketing hasn't even begun!
>If Xbox live takes off, I might even get an Xbox.
Nintendo's Gamecube is fantastic, but isn't promising much in the online department at the moment.
GCs online plans are SHOCKINGLY vague if you look at the comparason table on Xbox.com, look at it and see, MS have done their homework.
>BUT, that unity bullcrap at the end ruined it all.
If MS were going for unity, why didn't they just cut a deal with Sony to work closely with them and devellop their online networks (after all, with the MSN gaming Zone, MS are VERY experienced in this area). If they were talking about how the Xbox should be the only console, they're a little bit full of themselves...
Making an online network for Sony is admitting defeat surely and would be an extrmely stupid move considering how Sonys console doesn't have online capabilities in line with what MS are thinking of.
