Ripped straight out of Digitiser, I did exactly the above. I don't know about you lot, but the baby and sound effects sounded rather eerie that cute or babyish.

edgy - I have already tried holding just the z button, and guess what! It doesnt work... so ... THERE!!! The same goes for the GBA with the select button.

It's called an 'easter egg', just a little something which doesn't actually make any difference at all but is hidden within the system.

It's not meant to do anything else.

No you don't. Just hold Z as the GameCube is booting up.


And on the GBA u need to press and hold start and
> select when u turn it on for it to work!

No you don't, just press Select when the Game Boy Advance is booting up.

you need to press and hold both the z and start button for it to work on the gamecube. And on the GBA u need to press and hold start and select when u turn it on for it to work!

Maybe it was the original start up sound but it didn't go down too well for Nintendos image so they replaced it with the one we know but kept the child one in for and 'easter egg'?
Or maybe not.

I tried it, and it's freeky like. No baby i ever heard sounded like that, it's more a like donkey kong noise?? anyone agree??
