Can all you Nintendo fan-boy Mario lovers just stop trying to rip out the Xbox. Coming from me? Oh my god! The Nintendo man himself?!!! er-no is sticking up for not the company he believes in, but the industry he believes in. Gaming.

Microsoft has done more good than bad, and yet most of you are very stupid to see that. With Microsoft around, Sony and Nintendo must watch their own backs and also what games they make and which licences they buy.

For all of us. Yes! ALL OF US. This means better games. Otherwise we wouldn't have gotten the really great Mac game Halo on the XBox. We also wouldn't have the potentional of really great online RPG's on the console format.

I hate the company. Don't get me wrong. Microsoft are giant idiots in real life. I actually really don't like the console (itself) either. Yet I see what they are trying and the potential of what is under its black belly. Amazing games can be made for it, just like amazing games can be made for the other two consoles.

Ever since Nintendo (of the UK) said I couldn't have work experience for them I decided that as a company they are just like the rest (apart from Mac), they are crapheads. Only one individual is Nintendo, that is Shigsy himself. Anyways. Back to the point.

The Xbox is not crap, and with Microsoft as its company it WILL not fail, the can not be bargained with and it will not stop. Until we are dead...

..probably took that a bit too far.

You get what I mean.

Shut up fan boys.

Gaming is gaming bloody hell, apart from EA. They are crap. Hate them.

er-no
The turned one.

But Beanz the whole point of Smash Bros is that it IS simple. It's so anyone can pick it up and compete in a four way chaotic multiplay, but mastering all the techniques (such as various characters' abilities to turn back projectiles, the roll dodges, the mid-air dodges, etc.) is not such a simple task. I personally also like the fact that it never tries to be anything but a 2D beat-em up while so many beat-em ups now claim to be 3D with nice 3D character models and arenas, then the only movement in the third dimension is a sidestep manouvre that hardly ever gets used anyway. But I suppose with SSBM it's a kind of love or hate situation. I'm not a big beat em up fan, but Smash Bros to me is so refreshing.

personal opinion but i don't actually think there is a must have game on the gc at the moment.
i had heard all this raving about rogue leader 2 but i found the controls too twitchy and just damn frustrating
super smash bros melee was meant to be brilliant (scoring some ridiculous score in NGC) but i found it far too simplistic and dull (give me virtua fighter 4 anyday)
super monkey ball is quite good though

i'm not willing to get pikmin for just 6 hours of gameplay and luigis mansion for it's short gameplay (cos they're not really arcadey sort of games).
might give wave race a try though

really...i have been very disappointed with my gc

i've been disappointed with the xbox cos there hasn't been a single game i have played that is great since march!

PS2 has satisfied my needs though -at least now it keeps the odd good game coming until chrimo when they all start rushing in

I think Halo was more essential to X-Box than GTA3 was to PS2, or Super Mario Sunshine was to GameCube. What you need is a strong launch line up to make a console do well.

Nintendo did this with some good and very good titles (but saved the supreme one's for later), and the PS2 did this with.. er.. well, it didn't. That's why it sold terribly and the GameCube has outdone it.

Now the X-Box, without Halo, would have had a launch of PS2 standards. Let's face it, the only 'essential' game at the moment on the X-Box is Halo, and without it, the X-Box would have been a flop.

Now don't get me wrong, there are a few other very good games on X-Box, but those aren't as widely loved as Halo, and they're usually an aquired taste, or love-hate games.

But in honesty I think Halo is/was more essential to Xbox than say GTA3 is/was to PS2. I think the original PS2 'essential' title was GT3... GTA3 didn't come out until the PS2 was already well established. Halo on the other hand is probably responsible for selling a lot of Xboxs. Similarly I don't think Mario alone has that kind of draw (well, not in the UK anyway, probably still in Japan though) although Cubes are selling not just because of Mario but because of the promise of a lot of the old Nintendo franchises reappearing. All three consoles have some 'essential' titles/series that without them the console would struggle. As it stands though all three home consoles do seem to have established themselves well.

Halo is xbox's game that is essential, Just like GTA3 on PS2 or Super Mario Sunshine on the GC. Its what games that are on the console that count, i love the xbox's line up of games, thats why i chose the console.

Without Halo. The XBox would have failed very quickly...

That is true.

Nah, don't worry about me - he wasn't geting to me at all. Sure, I was annoyed about the way he was posting, but I don't let things get to me - especially things said on here. If anything, they give me the chance to fight back, which is very fun to do when you know you're right and they're not :) Even if he did try getting to my emotions, it wouldn't work as I can block some emotions if I really want to, mentally anyway. Sure, I'm not imperveous to my own emotions, but I can restrain them from having a major effect if I set my mind to it.

Anyway, as you said, it was very funny when he claimed I was an X-box fanboy! To be honest, I don't like the console that much, but there are one or two games that take my fancy like Jet Set Radio Future for instance.

It just shows how little he knows about the videogames industry and how pathetic he is as a person. I used to be like that when I started out on here, always claiming how the Nintendo 64 was better than the 'fony greystation', but I soon learnt the errors of my ways - but there are some people who can never change as they're too arrogant and up themselves to listen.

Xbox rocks, for its own reasons. While the GameCube has got all thet ypes of games I like, and great single player and party games, Xbox has got the best overall adult multiplayer games.

An example? Link cable Halo. Put simply, it rocks. I used to think Halo was just okay, until I played multi-player. Not the boringness of Split-screen story, but proper, 8 player link cable Halo. It is brilliant. I spent all day playing, and would still go on into the night if it wasn't for other needs, such as emptying my bowels and replenishing my stomach with stuff.

The Xbox rules, but think on this - If it didn't have Halo, would it be so good. Every Xbox owner has Halo. Would you have bought your Xbox if Halo wasn't on it? Probably not, because despite everybody saying it's amazing and has the best line up of games, few have materialised and even fewer of existing games are good. There are what, 10 games in the OXMUK top ten. Halo was a godsend to Microsoft, and my opinion is that Microsoft was lucky to bag Halo, because it is responsible for many, many sales.

I consider myself as a big fan of Xbox as a platform. I do not consider, or want to be considered as a Microsoft fan. That would be plan stupid.

It helps if you admire a system instead of a company. If you are a Sony fan then the chances are you may end up buying duff console after duff console simply because it's "Sony".

*Disclaimer*In the above paragraph I was not refearing to the Playstation brand.
