Hello.

In this passage, I will to refer to many things, this is what they mean.

"Regulars" - These kind hearted people come onto your website, and have fun talking to eachother, and post some great topics about games. Examples of these are: Ant, Elitesniper, Dan, Fogmaster, Fantasymeister. These people hardly win games, compared to the amount of work they do.

"We" - This also refers to the "regulars".

"Newbies" - These are the people that come on here SOLELY to win games, 95% of these will write one thing, steal a game from you, and then leave. The remaining 5% will stay after winning a game. These people do less work, and win more games.

"Staff" - This refers to anyone that works at Special Reserve.

We are getting very tired, and agitated at the fact that people come on here and win games, and never come back here again. This portrays the feeling of the forum simply being "used". We do not treat this forum like the 95% of newbies do. I.E. We do not have one night stands.

We care about the forum, and we enjoy returning to it, to post more things about games, and to talk to eachother. It is a social gathering as well as a games forum.

The staff, I believe, fail to see that we put much more effort and work into the site than the 95% of newbies, and also fail to realise that the newbies put no effort into maintaining their status in the forum.

Therefore, I propose this compremise. The newbies are unable to win, UNLESS they post at least 10 decent posts, which all refer to the name of the forum.

I have no say on the status of the reviews. I am happy that people can win with one review. I am unhappy with the fact that we put more time into the site than they do, but I understand that reviews have a better chance of winning a game.

However, it seems that newbies have a better chance than we do of winning a game. It also seems that whoever chooses gameaday fails to fully take in what has been written, and will ignore it if they have won before.

To summarise: We are unhappy with amount of newbies which simply leave after winning; we want newbies to post 10 decent topics before winning, to make the forum more effienent; and we want to have the same chance as winning as the newbies, which will also encourage more people to stay.

Thank you for reading. Any comments from the regulars will be welcomed.

I want newbies to come here to be happy winning a game, than staying on, like most of us those, and guys that think we like them straight away, when they join in, you need to get our trust that you will not abuse us and to not write anything bias!

You should win a game for that, Grix.

I would like to straighten out a few things.

I did not bring this up so I could win more games. I want, people to come on here, and stay on here, so we build up more people on the site. I did not intend for things to come out in the way you are thinking.

I am not elitist, I am not trying to segregrate the newbies and regulars, only trying to merge them, so we get more regulars.

Although I am extrememly gratful for the two games I have been given, I do not expect to not win again, and anyone who does say this is lying, I also come on here to talk to friends, so it swings both ways.

I hardly ever try to win games, so please, don't crash down on me for bringing this up.

I also believe the system of gameaday could be improved, BUT ONLY to encourage more people to stay, which was why I posted the original topic.

Please do not jump to silly conclusions, like you have done here.

I'm sorry if I came over as patronising, but it does annoy me when people think I'm something I'm not.

Well, when I'm running tests on modems I have a little time to kill, waiting for the results.

Then sometimes I am just plain bored!

I agree with Mr Sven there. I'm always here (during the day, anyway) but I don't see the need to post something just to say hello, or just because I'm bored.
I read most of the topics, but don't feel the need to reply, unless I have something to add.
Whereas so of the so called regulars will post any pointless rubbish. Just look at the way some of the topics descend into something completely non-relevant.

Hi. I use this site dozens of times each week and I'm glad I'm not included in the list of 'regulars'. The only thing regular about any of these people is that they 'regularly' speak to each other about pointless topics that aren't to do with gaming at all. I think it's sad that Grix has brought other people into this argument that may not have asked to get involved. It sounds like pure jealousy on Grix's behalf and ungratefulness for the fine service that's provided by Special Reserve.

We've had this conversation so many times, i can just reel it off without even thinking about it. We do reward regulars with prizes - numerous people have won more than once and we are grateful to you for continuing to visit our site. But 'newbies', as you so affectionately call them, have just as much chance to win as the rest of you should - why should I be biased into picking a regular just because he hasn't won for a couple of weeks?

New people come onto this site all the time, and if the Gameaday winners list was crammed full of the same old people, it would look like the Gameaday prize is impossible to win ie. you have to be part of a certain 'clique' to win - this is not the case. ANYONE who comes onto UKdiscussions.com is eligible for the prize, whether they leave after winning, or stay. You were all newbies once, when you won your first prize was anyone complaining then? Maybe you should look at it from someone else's point of view - letting regulars win everyday is greedy, and nothing else. They have as much chance as winning as new customers, so there.

It's a shame that this keeps having to be said, cos I just want the competition to run smoothly and everyone to be happy. I'm not having a go, but there does appear to be a certain group forming that is, how can I say, 'slightly hostile' towards newcomers, so why not lay off them for a while. You know what John Lennon said, 'Give Peace A Chance'.
