A)Kevin Hofland (13mil) and Fabio Cannavaro (14.5mill) +£3-5 mill
or
B)Rio ferdinand. (£30mill+)
Ummmmmm tough choice. Its close but i think i might just have to go for A.

I think Hofland is a good young player who would have been bought if the Rio deal didnt go through, I think the fact that Rio was involved in the World Cup and Hofland wasnt gave him the edge because Rio played brilliantly against World Class players and at the same time collected valuable experinace at a young age which will be vital in Man Utd's Champions League campaign. Rio also knows a lot of the United players and really we were looking for someone to slot straight in rather than take a season to gell with the others because we cant really afford to not win nothing again, Hofland is someone who can maybe come in next season when Blanc retires. In terms of Cannavaro he is also an excellent defender but the downside is that again we are not sure whether an italian defender would fit into our defence or would probably take a while to fit in hence the game is much quicker and at the age of 29 he wouldnt be around for more than a few seasons. I think Rio is a quality player who will be a future captain for Utd, I can understand that £30 mil is a hell of a lot of Money but these days it takes that kind of money to get quality players, we do however need more reinforcements at the back and I feel that Hofland would be a great addition to our squad in the near future.
So what the hell did you keep Dubbery and Radebe for when they behind Ferdinand in the line-up for a place in the team???
Seems a bit much to spend £18m on a 'cover' player...
Although he aint exactly one for the future at 29 years old...
Rio is good for another 10 years...
Can't remember who though, but I know it's an Italian team - like Roma or someone.
And Ferdinand's used to the Premiership lifestyle, unlike Hofland who would need some time to settle in.
And having played in the same England team as Beckham and Scholes and co. can only help him adapt even further.
Hofland hasn't played with any of them!
He's only ever played AGAINST them for Holland, and against Van Nistelrooy back in the olden days.
Although Rio has somthin that money sometimes cant buy. Premiership experience. Watching some of the pre-season games Rio looks to have gelled into the team automatically and was cruising.
I understand dutch players like Stam and Van Nistelrooy made more or less instant impacts but you cant always be sure of it...
