Now Sega have taken the first step to that and announced all the sonic classics on one disc these include:
Game Console it was released on
Sonic the hedgehog Megadrive
Sonic the hedgehog 2 Megadrive
Sonic CD sega cd
Sonic the hedgehog 3 Megadrive
Sonic and knuckles Megadrive
Sonic 3D blast Saturn
Sonic R Saturn
Sonic shuffle Dreamcast
And rumoured
Sonic Drift Gamegear
Well they are not exactly all quality N64 games but it is the start multi-game disks.
So hats off to sega for making Zelda ocarina of time on the same disk as Mario seem not so far over the horison.
Anyway I think it'd be a cool idea.

OI! this is my post :D
well said though
This does open up a new option for the future. It reminds me alot of a thing Nintendo did in Japan. You could buy blank Game Boy or NES carts and take them into a store to have games stored on them.
I believe this could be a real way for Nintendo to gain ground in all the markets. It has a Japanese quirkiness, an American tech-style and the convenience us lazy Brits are after.
Nintendo install GOD-writers (Gamecube optical disc, before any of you think I'm being blasphemous)in megastores of chains such as Game and Virgin. Then you could buy a GOD for Nintendo's wholesale price (about a fiver) and then in a game-store you can select a bunch of games to have written on them. Think about it, about 50p for an N64 game and less for NES, SNES and GameBoy games. Considering a GOD can hold around 50 N64 games, you're looking at intense value for money with 50 games for £30. You could have your whole back-collection stored for your pleasure. You could even design your own logo to be stamped on your disc!
Although it's a nice thought, I doubt it'll ever happen. However I'd look forward to old titles being bundle on GameCube discs on the retail market. Imagine, 'The Shooter Collection'. A GameCube disc holding GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Turok, Turok 2, Quake 2, and others! I know I'd snap that up! Or 'The Action Collection', with Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Shadowman, Zelda OoT, Majora's Mask, Goemon, all your favourites.
It's a tactic that I think Nintendo would do well to adress. Not only would they probably make a tidy profit but these collections could also be used to fill the worrying gaps in the GameCube's release dates.
