Now Sega have taken the first step to that and announced all the sonic classics on one disc these include:
Game Console it was released on
Sonic the hedgehog Megadrive
Sonic the hedgehog 2 Megadrive
Sonic CD sega cd
Sonic the hedgehog 3 Megadrive
Sonic and knuckles Megadrive
Sonic 3D blast Saturn
Sonic R Saturn
Sonic shuffle Dreamcast
And rumoured
Sonic Drift Gamegear
Well they are not exactly all quality N64 games but it is the start multi-game disks.
So hats off to sega for making Zelda ocarina of time on the same disk as Mario seem not so far over the horison.
I think of the Mega Collection not so much like a disc which is the first stages of having multiple games from the past (like the 'Action collection' that was mentioned earlier in this topic) but more of like the Super NES's Super Mario Allstars collection. Just a collection of games from the same series - that didn't amount to anything more on the SNES.

Well it will be handy for PSO, which still hasnt got a confirmed UK release date.
Anyway, it would be nice to see some old classics appear in bundles but I doubt it'll happen in the near future.
Perhaps Nintendo will leave it a couple of years for when we start feeling nostalgic.
Still, i expect the web network launch, in japan / hong kong at least, can't be 'all' that far off, if the necessary peripherals are already on the market...
The adapter, that plugs into the memory card slot.. i expect it's probably ready for production, but there's no real use for it yet - games don't take up too much memory space, and there's nothing to make use of hard drive facilities. Maybe when the web network kicks off, then there'd be something to fill some of the card's capacity, and people would actually have a reason to buy the thing.
Generally though, the hardware stuff doesn't get much hype. Not even the wavebird really.
In time though. When it's needed, i'm sure we'll see it.
Nice and simple.
Maybe.
