My mum has her friends round for dinner tonight and I got called in to say hello etc

I sat down for a bit and one of them started to tell a story about her daughter who is an air hostess.

She's been off her work for 4 weeks because she was coming home on a flight to Austrailia when she saw an old woman sitting up near the front of the plane so she asked if she was feeling alright and she replied saying she was fine and just needed a rest ... they talked for a while and she offered her a glass of water and she accepted and they continued to talk for a bit then the old lady asked Sarah (air hostess) if she could go and tell her husband (Mr Somebody) in seat B 17 (or something) that she was okay.

So she found the seat and approahed the man and said:

" Mr Somebody "

" Yes "

" I was just talking to your wife and she says that she's okay "

The man replied with a shocked tone:

" My wife died 2 days ago... I'm taking her body home on this plane "

By now she was shocked and ran to the front of plane where the woman had gone... she's been off her work since.

I find that quite a cool story.

In my last year at high school we went on a trip to Orkney (Island on the North of Scotland) and on the way home we stopped overnight at Carbisdale castle. It claims to have ghosts and there are a number of stories connected with the place, there are little messages on the walls in each room telling you a bit about it. All rather freaky but enjoyable at the same time.

Nobody really believed much but we did see a few things ourselfs that were hard to believe. I was in a toilet and could hear someone knocking the wall behind me and mummbling. After that I went out the toilet and looked out the window only to see the toilet I was in was on the corner wall of the castle about 60ft of the ground.

Someone also said that the could hear someone in one of the showers, and could see wet feet marks on the floor but when they opened the door the shower was empty.

Pretty scary place. But excellent to stay in. You always look out for things.

There's a ghost hunting programme on Living (Sky channel for the poor beggers without) with some E-list celeb as the host. Anyway, they go round looking into haunted places. One time they were in a lighthouse but nothing was happening (ghost wise) so they moved to the kitchen where the stove 'mysteriously' came on at which point they all shouted 'Ghosts!' and ran off. Best. programme. ever.

This is my contribution to the thred because I too find it interesting.

I like ghosts stories too, especially freaks ones like that.

I like to believe them but deep down I do think that some are made up or there's a logical explanation etc..

Saying that apparently there's this pub in my town that is haunted, not really heard much of that though as I don't go in there (it's and "oldies" pub really.

Oh and in my brother's house years ago the man who used to live there wife died and he hung himself in the garage. The previous occupant (a single widow) of the house witnessed an apparent sighting but my brother and his girlfiend have yet to hear witness anything themselves.

My friend can hear noises in the garage... then the next door neighbour told them that the previous owner gassed himself in his car... which was in the garage.

I generally don't believe ghost things but find them interesting.

When my Mum was at Uni she shared a house with 3 other girls, they used to hear tapping in the night and sounds like heavy breathing. There was also a cold spot in one place, when they looked into it they found out that some guy had collapsed there with an asthma attack and knocked on the skirting board to try and get someone to come, but no one came and he died!

My Mum recons its all a big co-incidence, her friends have other ideas about it.
