Hello and welcome to The Awards Ceremony for my Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament. There are many awards to give out, so even if you were knocked out in the group stages, you still might win something. For information purposes, I will quickly state the link to the original thread (in case you wanted to review matches or commentaries. I started the commentaries from the quarterfinals onwards) and the people who originally signed up:

(Minus the space by the question mark)

People Who Originally Signed Up:
BIGMAN, Jetster, phi11ip, Na†ßu©, Microchips, sedgie, Boss Pac-Man, **Kerrang!**, Blazing Anton, Foreman, Major Chip Hazard, Gamecube_13, Time_Warp, Tiltawhirl, ShadowDragon, Uncle Albert.

And so on to the awards, I will first of all list the placings (i.e. who came first, second, etc) and then move on to some more interesting awards that anyone could win.

PLACINGS:

In last place (sixteenth), the worst of the worst, was:
sedgie (Ganondorf)

In fifteenth place, second from last, was:
Gamecube_13 (Kirby)

In joint eleventh place, just avoiding becoming one of the worst, was:
Major Chip Hazard (Roy – Red)

In joint eleventh place, with Major Chip Hazard, was:
Microchips (Fox)

In joint eleventh place again, the next one was:
Time_Warp (Luigi)

In joint eleventh place, along with the other three, was:
ShadowDragon (Zelda/Sheik)

In tenth place, one of the winners of the losers, was:
phi11ip (Roy – Blue)

In ninth place, and just under half way, was:
Jetster (Marth)

In eighth place, missing out by a joint fifth by just one point, was:
Foreman (Falco – White)

In joint fifth place, but still with a great achievement, was:
Blazing Anton (Link)

In joint fifth place aswell as Blazing Anton, was:
Boss Pac-Man (Falco – Ice Blue)

In joint fifth place again, also still with a great achievement, was:
**Kerrang!** (Pikachu)

In fourth place, fourth by only one point, was:
Na†ßu© (Yoshi)

In third place, winner of the play-offs was:
BIGMAN (Young Link)

In second place, second by only one point, was:
Tiltawhirl (Captain Falcon)

In first place, the numero uno, the top dog, the man of the match was:
Uncle Albert (Dr. Mario)

OTHER AWARDS:

The Most Popular Stage Award Goes To:
Termina – Great Bay with 5 appearances

The Most Deadly Award Goes To:
Na†ßu© (Yoshi) with the most knock outs (11 knock outs)

The Most Stealthy Award Goes To:
BIGMAN (Young Link), Jetster (Marth), Microchips (Fox) and Time_Warp (Luigi) with the least falls (4 falls)

The Most Careful Award Goes To:
Jetster (Marth), phi11ip (Roy – Blue) and Gamecube_13 (Kirby) with the least self destructs (1 self destruct)

The Most Tame Award Goes To:
Gamecube_13 (Kirby) and sedgie (Ganondorf) with the least knock outs (1 knock out)

The Most Vulnerable Award Goes To:
Na†ßu© (Yoshi) and **Kerrang!** (Pikachu) with the most falls (8 falls)

The Most Suicidal Award Goes To:
Microchips with the most self destructs (9 self destructs)

SOME MORE INFORMATION:

[1] Unpredicted Outcome
Though it was Uncle Albert (Dr Mario) who won in the end, after a close defeat of Tiltawhirl (Captain Falcon), they had, in fact, fought before in the group stages. And if statistics are anything to go by, Tiltawhirl (Captain Falcon) – who won the original match by 3 points – should have emerged champion.

[2] Short Lived Champion
The group stages gave everyone a chance with three matches each, before the knockout stages. The maximum amount of points that could be gained here was nine, by winning all your matches. Each and every character in the tournament was highly skilled, so anyone that could do this deserves recognition. There was only one – BIGMAN (Young Link) – who emerged top of Group A. However, this did not guarantee a place in the final, and he had to settle for third.

Thanks to all who competed in the tournament, and read my report.
