Computer magazines should we listen well no because we should be able to decide which games we should like our selves and not be told by so called experts! They still have good points but not many. well i rember a gmae called Rigde Racer 1,2,3 and 4 the magazines said that they were bad but many people i know liked it and a few wrote into the magazines complaining about the bad reveiws.By the way i never owned a playstation.and with the gamecug game Lugi's mansion all the magazines said it was the best but me and other people thought it was rubbish and what about xbox's game Halo one of my friends own an xbox and said it was rubbish! why did people buy Lugi's mansion and Halo and most people ignore Ridge Racer 1,2,3 and 4? i will tell you why because the computer magazines told us and they have the power to do that so i say read with care because they have their veiw but you veiw is much more impotant.

It's better to stick with one magazine during a console's lifetime in my opinion, because then you can keep up to date and follow how games relate to each other. For example with N64 magazine I realised that GoldenEye and Turok were both on 95%, and that Mario 64 + Perfect Dark were 96ers. So when I got Ocarina of Time I was rightly impressed at the extra 2% it got over those two. If you follow a magazine you get to know how much difference a % or two make.

However it's obvious when a game's gonna be good because on star games like Mario and Zelda all the mags agree that their good games.

scotty to hotty (and yes, I watch Pro Wrestling from time to time so I really should be calling you Scotty TOO Hotty with the extra O and if you had any knowledge of the English language you'd see it too) Boss_Pac_Man is right, Magazine scores aren't always right, but I get NOM (no mag arguments please) and have agreed with every single score they have given (with the exception of South Park).

These people do it for a living, they consult the rest of the magazine team - about twenty or so people - (well they do in NOM) to get an overall view of the game, not just one person's. Buying a game on pure instinct is stupid, and if you read a good unbiased review that will tell you about the game and give you screenshots you'll see magazines are worth listening to. £35.00 per game is pricey, so you should to as much research as possible. The score is the main opinion part, but the main bulk of the review is ABOUT the game.

On the whole I'd say the people who review the games for magazines are pretty much spot on with their scores, of course sometimes some people may disagree but have you noticed they always tell you about the game. By that I mean they do comparisons to simlilar titles, tell you snippets of the storyline which on the whole gives you the oppertunity to decided for yourself if it's good. The scores are guidlines.

You can argue that Official magazines tend to be biased (we all remember the South Park fiasco) and I will admit that sometimes scores can be way off (WCW V NWO on N64 anybody?) N64 magazine rated that quite low but then again that is an "alternative sport" and maybe they didn't know much about it back then.

Put it this way it's the next best thing you're going to get to the games without actually playing through fully each one yourself.

Erm..no i didnt say that. If i enjoyed the game i would continue to play it. But what i did say was magazines scores are usually accurate and it is unlikely that a game which recived 40% would be any good.
