.....to Wolverhampton on Friday night, but on Sunday I'm going to Birmingham for a week.

Got a course to attend from Monday to Friday so plenty of time to large it up in the evenings, so does anyone here live near or in Birmingham, anyone been to the place and got anything to say good or bad about it?

Also looking for information on places to go in the evenings, bars, restaurants, clubs etc.....I've never been to the city before. I've driven round it on my way to Scotland but that's about as near as I've been to the place.

So anyone got any information on this place?

Funnily enough, I was in north Birmingham from Friday til Monday! It was the first time I've ever felt like I was part of the ethnic minority! The West Brom' area has more mixed races than Tiger Bay! (Cardiff locals will know what I'm on about). I'm not trying to sound racist or anything cos there's nothing wrong with being of any race, it's just that it felt so wierd to be of the minority whereas all the locals there probably thought nothing of a white family walking through the centre there.

If you like English food (chips, steak, anything without the word balti or curry in it) then don't go to West Brom'. You wont find a restaurant for miles that serves non-spicy food unless you go to the local McDonalds (there's about 1000 McDonalds restaurants per street in West Brom').

I couldn't live in West Brom'. The noise would drive me crazy (despite me already living on the edge of a motorway) but there were some nice quieter areas of Birmingham that wouldn't be so bad to live in....

They do speak funny. The most common line which us Saints remember them by is:

"Chips un grey-veeeeee frum the chippeyeeee"

(phonetically)

...Gods kitchen, depends wot sort of music you like really but theres one big street with lots of bars all the way down it, hope you have a good time :)

Birmingham has great night life, ive been out a few times in Bham and it has a great selection of Cafe Bars and Night clubs, the sports cafe is a decent cafe bar and some of the good clubs there are DNA & G

My brother went out there on the night with his girlfriend for his 21st, came back with a broken knuckle. Some coloured geeza hit his girlfriend, so my brother broke the kids nose... meh.

I've been to my relatives house in Wolverhampton.

They talk funny

And they live on a largely slanted road.

Ive heard the people talk funny. Like this:

"hellooo Im from Burming-uuuuum."

Other than that i have nothing else to go on.
