After reading 'Fast Food Nation' by Eric Schlosser I have not so much vowed never to eat in a fast food restaurant than I need to go somewhere else when mates fancy a quick snack.

Those who have read it will know what I'm going on about... those who don't here's just a little bit about what the book is about?

Who likes chicken nuggets?

I have to admit i dont go to burger vans, the mould growing up the sides warns me of danger.

Remember:

Green foods are good, but if they aren't vegetables, leave them alone.

I agree with Mr R - I will not as a matter of course ever buy anything from the likes of Tesco's etc that is from it's "value / economy" range. We all know what total crap gets put into them tins and packets.

That includes the food I buy for the cats. I bought some value cat food once and when I opened the first tin the smell was horrible - I put it in the cats bowls anyway as I didn't have anything else and even they refused to eat it !

I will also never buy hot dogs or burgers from these caravans that appear on Fri and Sat nights - again just the smell is bad enough to know that you are not buying 100% Meat.

How many of you like a nice Doner Kebab then ? Anybody know what is actually on that big revolving skewer type thing ?

I never worry when im eating at mcdonalds, as long as the food is properly cooked it doesnt matter where the stuff has been. I use this equation:

Germs+bacteria=sick
Germs+bacteria+heat=safe

You all have a point but in a way don't give me that crap so you can eat at McDonald's without worrying.

Anyway it's not just the food that stops me eating there.

Fast food restaurants (KFC, BK, Maccies, etc) are the real urine takers, and should be avoided if possible. Processed food often isn't as bad as made out, so long as you know it comes from a decent supplier (ie, don't buy Tesco value or Sainsbury's economy).
