We all have them. Those ideas that pop into our heads every so often. Ideas that we wouldn't think about doing anything with, but at the time they sound like the best ones in the world.

An example:
I heard an Ice Cream Van the other day, playing the usual tunes. I thought to myself, 'why can't they be polyphonic?' The range of tunes would then be much bigger.

Great idea, but not really practical or life changing, is it?

So, any strange little ideas from you lot?

Some decent e-book hardware.

It would be book-page size - or possibly two-page size, like an open book, light, portable, and much easier on the eye than a normal computer screen.

You could dowload e-books via a wireless connection to a pc, memory card slot, usb, or whatever, and read them like a normal book, without the hassle or uncomfortable reading of a pc.

The page-finding thing and skipping around to different parts of the book would be good, instead of lame.

It would do to the book market what MP3 downloads are doing to the music market - making things cheaper, more accessible and generally better.

It might use that roll-up-screen technology they've invented but can't do anything good with. But only if the display was very easy on the eye.

Did I take this thread too seriously?

Okay, I'd invent a donkey with wheels.

Just thought of another one;

Electronic shopping list.

It's like a PDA only cheaper and especially for your supermarket shopping. It can be linked to the supermarket website to get stock records of what's in your chosen store and you can make a list before you go out to the shop.

It can also keep a note of your points balance from the store's points scheme and can have downloadable special offer coupons.

Reading that post again it does look like I'm refering to women not getting served :)

English isn't my strong point!

I wish someone would implement lanes in towns and shopping malls. One lane for the old slow people, another lane for the medium paced people, another for the mothers with prams so they can run each other over and use their prams as battering rams against each other and then a last lane for people like me who like to walk around quickly but can't because we're having to constantly traverse a bunch of slow moving people or dodging battering ram prams
