Pilfered this post from the ol' Edge forums.

http://www.cubenation.com has got lots of info from the recent Nintendo show in France. They're a very reliable site and have got stuff early before. For instance, they confirmed the black GBA for Europe a week before it was announced and always get various release dates early...

- Animal Leader coming to Europe in 2003, probably America as well.
- Animal Crossing coming to Europe in Q3 2003 (A nightmare to translate)
- Metroid Prime coming in Europe out on January the 10th 2003

- Nintendo will be holding The Nintendo Show 2002 in London on August the 29h or September the 3rd

- GameCube bundle with Mario Sunshine and memory card 59 will be out before Christmas in Europe.

- Star Fox Adventures is completed, it will be 80 hours long and will come on TWO disks.

Animal Crossing has to take so long as it's an extremely localised game. They have to change all the dates. For example, They'd have to add in Independance Day and Thanksgiving for the USA, and remove them for the UK and replace them with Guy Fawkes' day and, er, the Cabinet Reshuffle. Maybe.

Actually, 80 hours wouldn't be THAT surprising.

Smash Brothers has surpassed 100, but then again, it is a multiplayer game...

Damn, i've just realised how delayed Animal Crossing is. What the heck's going on with that game then? surely it's not that hard to update it from N64 to GC.

I rekcon Starfox will last me 80 hours, I like to mess around in games and when it's a Rare game there's always tons to mess around with. Banjo Tooie took me twice as long to complete than it did for most gamers, I just spent hours looking at the scenery and playing with the AI on the enemies.

Wow thats more longevity than even i thought possible. Although it does seem a bit too long, maybe getting a little boring.

I think that 80 hours is a rough guess for the average gamer.

I think that 40 hours is more likely with another 10 hours of finding secrets. Still, that's a LOT of gameplay.

THIS is why Rare games are so infrequent, because they have this much packed into them.

Super Mario Sunshine is supposed to be of similar length to Super Mario 64. I can't remember where I read that though.

Anyone have any idea of how long Mazza Sunshine is supposed to be...? I looked at a review on gamesradar but didn't read all of it (just the beginning of it and the score) so I didn't spoil the suprises... doubt I'll read any reviews of it 'properly' because I just don't want to spoil any of the funky moments :D

but then again Resident Evil was 'only' two discs and that reached around the 40-hour mark, didn't it?
