One of the whole points of having notables is that you recognise a small group of people who make the forums worth visiting. Indeed, it there was a larger number of notables then there would be no point in having them. More importantly, notables are (supposidly) respected, members of the room who post good topics...

Now, as most of you know, I've landed myself a gap year job working down South for 9 months. Not only will I not have much time to post (stupidly, we're paid in advance, allowing us to drink on the company before we start!), but I won't even have a computer initially. Even when I do, I'll be sharing the line with other gap year students, so won't be online much (and I doubt we'll get broadband). All this adds up to me not posting very often (perhaps a few times a month every so often)...

After that, I have my heart set on going around the world during that summer and doing loads in interesting stuff. It won't be until the end of summer when I go to Uni that I'll have a net connection and a laptop to post with...

So, should I stand down as a notbale? Personally I think I should, but seeing as it's you people who (mostly!) voted for me (points at people who didn't vote for me!) I thought I should put it to your opinions. Remember that even when I go to uni I won't have so much time for posting... as well as academics, there'll be drinking and a few other projects that I'm working on (details to follow next year!). Either way, I'll hardly be a notable member of the forums any more...

Your opinions please...

I'm not in the least unhappy. I have no reason to be. I do find it amusing that in "spotting" me, you feel you have gained a moral victory of sorts, when in fact I was never hiding to begin with.

Move along, move along...

*chuckles*

You seem unhappy and frustrated.
May I suggest a hug?

And it's worth pointing out, since you are clearly not aware, that when I change nicks and post, any previous posts with my previous nick retain the nick they were written with, whereas any post I have ever written using this ACCOUNT will always display my current tagline.

I hope this is not beyond your understanding.

Well, my tagline was Carpe Diem, but whatever. I'm not masquerading, but instead phasing out the Insane Bartender nick that has been with me since I was 18. Instead I'm picking up on the Ripper nickname which I've had my entire life.

I have no doubts whatsoever that people will notice that Mr Ripper = Insane Bartender. I'm not changing my writing style, or my ethics, just my name.

I do hope you can keep up.

Notable status is meaningless. I can't say I have any more respect for notable people than I do anyone else, be they regular or newbie. JATs I generally have no opinion of whatsoever though...

Anyway, I say demote ALL notables to regular status.

I live in the music and life forum.
Occasionally I go to the Sony forum or PC Games one.

monkey_man for notable.
Or me twice, because I'm extra special. Like the Bionic Man but without the red tracksuit and that "Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da" noise when I leap about.

monkey_man for notable
