The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
One of the whole points of having notables is that you recognise a small group of people who make the forums worth visiting. Indeed, it there was a larger number of notables then there would be no point in having them. More importantly, notables are (supposidly) respected, members of the room who post good topics...
Now, as most of you know, I've landed myself a gap year job working down South for 9 months. Not only will I not have much time to post (stupidly, we're paid in advance, allowing us to drink on the company before we start!), but I won't even have a computer initially. Even when I do, I'll be sharing the line with other gap year students, so won't be online much (and I doubt we'll get broadband). All this adds up to me not posting very often (perhaps a few times a month every so often)...
After that, I have my heart set on going around the world during that summer and doing loads in interesting stuff. It won't be until the end of summer when I go to Uni that I'll have a net connection and a laptop to post with...
So, should I stand down as a notbale? Personally I think I should, but seeing as it's you people who (mostly!) voted for me (points at people who didn't vote for me!) I thought I should put it to your opinions. Remember that even when I go to uni I won't have so much time for posting... as well as academics, there'll be drinking and a few other projects that I'm working on (details to follow next year!). Either way, I'll hardly be a notable member of the forums any more...

People change, maybe he doesn't like the forums anymore. But without Sniper, then I'm not sure I'd be here today, because he was certainly the life of the forums back in the 'golden age' if you will. In fact, he got voted in as Notable before me when we voted in five at the same time.
And Sibs, I have actually been here quite a lot over the past few days...heh, shows how much impact I make on the forums.
And Sonic? You deserve to be a Notable no matter what people say, along with Sniper and whoever else the newer posters to the site say should have their goldish names taken away.

If you do give your NOTABILITY up, what is the point, we will all still like you after months of not posting in here, just keep it and we will remember who you are, otherwise we will think you are just some dumb old regular trying to become a NOTABLE.

You are still recognised as a good poster, Sonic.
Just because your not on much doesn't mean that alln thsoe people who voted you back in the day now hate you and kick themselves for voting you.
Many of the notables don't come on much but we still respect them deeply, for instance Meka and FM aren't on yet everyone has positive things to say.
It's easier to gain popularity than it is to lose it.
