Hi. I've heard that Grand Theft Auto 3 will soon be coming to X-Box, and there'll be tons of new features like choosing which person you want to be, etc.

However, it has also been brought to my attention that Sony have (selfishly) bought the rights to the GTA games for the next few years so only PS2 players can experience the pleasure.

As I've heard that X-Box GTA3 production is finished/almost finished it would be impractical to can the whole project and sensible to go through with it.

What are Rockstar playing at? If GTA3 and Vice City come out on X-Box, they'll definitely be the best and probably sway me to buy the console. Anyone know what's going on?

and why the "will"...they're both out already :D

gta3 is a game...ps2 is a piece of hardware...the two can't be compared :P

May I ask why? It won't have the same impact as what GTA3 on the PS2 had becuase no-one had seen a game live up to its hype previously before its PS2 release. The Xbox would enable the use of customisable sound tracks and graphical enhancements! Instead of just writing the first thing that comes into your mouth THINK about it! No it won't have the same impact but it will still be better than the PS2 version as they can improve on what is already in place! THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE WRITING!

gta 3 will not be as good as the ps2

i got bored with gta 3 too by the end of it...
missions got repetitive and there's only so much killing before you get bored!

Don't get me wrong, GTA3 was an excellent game but after a while it bores you so much that you will never play it again! I had a version of the game that wouldn't let me do one of the purple nine missions from a phone ox so the game could never be 100% completed although I got 96% without it! The level of interactivity is low in my opinion, shops can not be entered, there isn't an option to shoplift. The missions become very repetetive and the game is riddled with quite a few bugs! Granted I would love to see this game appear on the Xbox and I would probably buy it, but I think I can wait for 2004 to see this game on Xbox. If you are wanting a game that nails GTA3 then anticipate Shenmue 2X and Shenmue 3, I have completed Shenmue's 1+2 on the Dreamcast recently and I can safely say that GTA3 doesn't come near to what these games can/will do! As once a PS2 owner I felt the same way about Halo on the Xbox and I made the right descion of canning Sony's very mediocre console and buying something that will (eventually) deliver the goods!

It's not selfishness. It's business. Microsoft did it with Halo and Munch's oddesy, it's not all Sony doing this you know.

Sony did this with the tomb raider games after the first one. It really miffed me off.

unfortunately no gta will be coming to the xbox until....er...well...just too long!
