SmackDown started off with a match between Kurt Angle and Mark Henry. It didn't last too long as that big spanner Brock Lesnar interfered and handed the win to Mark Henry through DQ. He gave Mark an F-5, though as impressive as it was, finished a good match before it should have been finished.
Next up was the Tag Team Title match between The Rock with Hulk Hogan and Christian and Lance Storm. It was rather surprising to see this match as second on the card, but it got the fans hyped up anyway. Rock and Hogan had the match won, but of course, Brock Lesnar cost them the match when he attacked Hogan and gave him the F-5. Stupid Lesnar.
Next up was Rey Mysterio's debut against Chavo Guerrero. Could we have hoped for a better match? Nope, and it did the job too. Excellent combination of high flying manouvers from Rey Mysterio mixed with the technical ability of Chavo Guerrero made for the best match I've seen in the WWE since Hurricane and Kidman vs Tajiri and Funaki 2 months ago on Metal.
Test vs John Cena were actually very entertaining to watch. Test has proved before that he can put on a good match, and rookie John Cena has a lot of talent that the WWE will need to put to good use in the future. No interference from Lesnar! *Gasps, clutching heart*
The Cage match right at the end was excellent. I'm not really a fan of either Edge or Jericho, but Jericho was actually quite good to watch today. Unfortunetly for me, Sky 1 cut a break during Chris Jericho's entrance, which is the favourite part of a match with him in it for me. Stupid Sky 1. But the match turned out to be a whole lot better. Edge winning in a race to get out of the Cage after a high impact move from each star. Then the Anti-Americans interfered and threw Edge back in, where he recieved a vicious 4 on 1 assualt, but then John Cena came out to help, and finally Rey Mysterio, who leapt off the top of the cage into a cross body on the Anti-Americans. Brilliant.
There were, throughout the show, all those little cutscenes with Stephanie and her Bischoff angle. Bischoff trying to sign Angle for SmackDown, apparently. It turned out that no-one knows who Bischoff took to RAW. Ah well, if it's Hogan I'm happy. :D
Overall, a brilliant SmackDown, and hopefully it'll attract more viewers for the WWE, or for SmackDown anyway.
Your thoughts?
Rey Mysterio Junior was his name in WCW but they just took the Jr out of his name for his arrival in the WWE.
Just one question, are 'Rey Mysterio' and 'Rey Mysterio Jr' two different people, or is it the same guy I saw from WCW a few times?? I never really watched WCW so have no idea if the WWE just too out the 'Jr' from his name, or if this is his senior.
Ok, Mysterio's debut was better than Van Dam's debut i agree but Rey can't take hard slams, as he has had back surgery before. Mind you that was in WCW a while back.
RVD? Pah, he's nothing compared to my first impression of Rey Mysterio. I've never seen him wrestle before, and he was awesome, and took absolutely no time in accustoming himself to the bigger ring. While RVD's moves can sometimes look a little rusty (everyone else's does as well though), Mysterio was literally poetry in motion. I'm glad they let Chavo show off his stuff too.
Test and Cena was pretty good, and I just loved that big boot at the end. :D
Jericho vs Edge was brutal. I enjoyed basically all of it, apart from when Edge won. I was on my feet shouting for Y2J to move. :D ANTI-AMERICANS RULE!
Which star has gone to RAW? It's possibly Hulk Hogan, because I don't believe its Rock, Y2J, Edge and Angle.
Overall, this week's programming has been brilliant. The tag team division is slowly getting better with the Anti-Americans, the Hardys, Billy and Chuck and now The Island Boys (I think), and Cong Man said it all about the Cruiserweight Division...although he did miss one certain wrestler who I would class in the same category as Noble and Chavo. {:)
Excellant, the only thing i thought was weird is that Raw got a rating of 4.3 and Smackdown got 3.8??
There wasnt a bad segment in the whole show.
Easily the best WWE show in weeks.
+Brock Lesnar is cool. Im glad he came to Smackdown.
+The main event was good and had a great aftermath.
+Reys debut was good. Not the best of Reys work, allthought it was great, but that was pretty much a warm up match. That was nothing compared to what he can do in the ring. (Youll know what I mean if you used to watch WCW)
+The whole "Who is Bischoff getting" angle was quite good.
Coolest move of the show: Rey mysterios 619.
I think I figured out who is in the Limo. Read on to find out.
WARNING: It contains a SPOILER for next weeks RAW so its written backwards.

Yes. Chavo vs Rey Mysterio could've been even better if it lasted for longer.
For me, that was the best match I've seen in AGES.
My opinion - Smackdown's second hour was better than the first. The cutscenes started to get a little annoying after a while. I don't think more matches are the key. I think the talented wrestlers should be given longer matches.
