Which developer do you think is the best, and why?
Is it Rare with their titles for the N64? They've put out quite a few really great games. Or do you prefer Squaresoft? I was a fan of their SNES RPG's, especially Chrono Trigger, and was disappointed to learn that they wouldn't be producing the goods for the N64. I haven't played their Playstation efforts, so can't comment there.
What about some of the others, Capcom, Konami, EA?

My favourite developer has to be Capcom. From way back when they made the SNES version of Street Fighter II I have been buying their games. Over the years they have made some real classics in the form of Resident Evil 1,2,3,Code Veronica, Street Fighter II,SFII Turbo,Super SFII,SFIII,3rd Strike,SF Alpha 3,Marvel v Capcom 2,Capcom v SNK,Dino Crisis 1,2,Powerstone 1,2. They may all be similar in design but the way they play is unbeatable.

Also I must mention Rare. They really know how to make games. They showed the world what they could do with the SNES Donkey Kong Country series and ever since have always lived up to that sort of quality. I have quite a few Rare games, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong 64, Jet Force Gemini, and always have to go back for more even after I completed them. Cant wait to see what titles they will bring to the GameCube.

I heard that he's bringing out episode 8 first, then 3, and leaving 2 until last to prevent Electronic Arts grabbing the software licence. Apparently Act II has an ice-hockey game, but with anti-grav. pucks that travel at just under light speed across intergalactic distances, and George Lucas, having seen the NHL games, started work on episode 8 straight away.

Although Lando flies it in the ending.

With that, odd shaped head guy.

I hope Episode 2 is better than Episode 1.

Thanks for correcting me on that Babylonian, but you know what I mean.

I think Electronic Arts should also get an award for output. The 'Silo' Award for Sports Programming, and a gold star for anything else they ever did on a retro console, which was quite good at the time because 5 years ago it was unique. (Then 4 years ago they started on the sequels....)

SquareSoft, because they've got the guts to specialise and get away with it. They actually WAIT until a game is perfect before releasing it. It's worth getting a PS just to play the Final Fantasy games and nothing else, believe me. With The Bouncer to be released on the PS2, one of the most eagerly awaited titles, their future in the gaming hall of fame is nearly guaranteed.

As an alternative, NAMCO deserve special mention because of their longevity in the industry. They've dropped some clangers in the past, but overall their stable includes some very fine titles, Resident Evil being amongst them, plus they are cross-platform, so a wide range of people have been exposed to their influence.
