Dwight Yorke has signed for Blackburn Rovers. After weeks of negotiating, the price is a substantialy low £2 million. He will now be linking up with former strike partner Andy Cole which could see young Matt Jansen relegated to the subs bench.

Arsenal have also taken Juventus' young Uruguayan keeper Fabian Carini on loan for the new season while Middlesborough have agreed terms with Juninho who will sign shortly subject to a medical.

I'm shocked to see him go for only £2m.
Even if he was basically a useless member of out squad last-season, he was still worth more nearer to 3 times that valuation!

This is a player Ferrgie payed £12.6m for - and with that £2m a total of around £10.6 has been lost - just like that!

But then again, it is Man United.
Only the biggest club in the country, and possibly even the world!
In Martin Edwards' Office there are probably Bonzai Trees that have money growing on them or something like that... !!

I think the problem was that only Blackburn were interested. Yorke had been up for sale for about a year. Blackburn were not going to pay £6m so if Yorke stayed at Utd they would have had to pay his wages of say £2m a year. So at £2m, whilst it is a steal for Blackburn it is not too bad a deal for Utd.

If you look at it in straight money terms it is a loss of £10.6m, but his goals help us to the treble so it was money well spent.

Im really confused about the cut price fee paid for Yorke, The asking price was something like £6 mil which Blackburn wanted Man U to decrease, so they decrease it all of a sudden to £2 mil? how does that work? I think we let him go cheaply and certainly made a £10.6 mil loss on him.

Yorke and Cole played some quality football all over europe in the treble season.

Hopefully they can repeat this in the Uefa cup for Blackburn!

Yeh, with the wages Utd will save from not having Yorke warming the reserve team bench, the deal not too bad for a 30 year old. But him and Cole will be good for 25 -30 goals between them. Should keep Blackburn up.

The old partnership of Yorke and Cole eh,

2 Million is indeed a bargain. But it seems that, that is the hgihest price Man United could get for him!

I know Sir Alex wanted rid of Yorke. But to sell him for £2m is a joke. He will get a bag full of goals and I am sure he will get at least one against Utd this Season.
