Ew, no thanks. Anyway, insert the official Windows XP disc and select the 'Format' option. If all else fails, proceed to decimate your computer with a sledgehammer :)

Make a boot disk on a Floppy, it will put all the programs you need onto the disk so you can Format your Hard Drive(s), then you can re-install windows XP and all your programs, just make sure you back up any important personal files first.

I've got to do the exact same thing tomorrow. All you have to do is have the format program on a floppy disk, put it in, let your computer boot off it and then just type 'format C:'.

I would upload it, I don't trust my computer as far as I could throw it today though, all should be sorted by tomorrow though, so if you don't have it, let me know.

If you've got a system recovery disc you can just boot up with that and restore your computer to its pristine 'just left the factory' settings.

I can't advise you on Windows XP though because I'm still using Win2K Pro.

easiest way would be to create a bootable floppt with command.com on it.

I need to take everything off.. as in Windows etc... well, I only really need to get into DOS, but I can't even do that!

Damn XP!

Over the months I sem to have accumulated a few bugs, and instead of fafing around with McAfee this an Norton 'You don't really need this' that - I want to start again.

All I need to know is how to get into DOS without being in Windows!
