On Shenmue 2 where can I practice moves on my own, is the only place where you have to spar with that guy or is there another place whre you can train on my own? Also, is it possible to earn money fighting, if so where? Thanks.

I have entered Kowloon! I have got to find room 902 in the Tea Break building, Wong has just un-locked the hand-cuffs to seperate me from Ren, I am on m way to Huangs place now!!
The new style QTE's are very hard, you have to watch the screen very carefully otherwise you miss the button combination. One of the hardest bits so far would be escaping the building with Ren, the QTE goes on for a very long time and I kept missing the turnings even though I pressed left or right!
In the Beverly Hills Wharf I fought "The Beast", LOL, I got to level 11 and won $500, that was the best way to make the money so Cool Z would take me to Ren, I also won quite a few times on the dice game by just stating whether or not it would be "Big" or "Small".
Go to www.shenmuedojo.com ! They have the first possible screen shots of Shenmue 3 that were taken from a Japanese web-site! I will be getting Shenmue 2X becuase that way I will be able to carry over that save onto Shenmue 3 by using the Xbox Hard-Drive, I hope they include Shenmue 1 and make it a double sided DVD, that way the story could be continued without a problem and you would be able to keep the toys and moves that you had earned and practiced.
Shenmue 3 is due out next year so that is by far my most anticipated game! The graphics are by far the greatest I have ever seen on any console for Shenmue's 1+2 and with the Xbox they are going to polish them off and decrease the load times (although load times are good).
Do you have an Xbox? If not I bet you will get one just to play Shenmue 3 alone!

--Yes there are fight tournaments. Its not really a tournament, but you cna challange people and they fight you. obviously u win money if you fight them. Its more or less just a fight! You actually cant hit the old man at all, its been programmed so that you cant! lol, though some people have caught him (i did). Cd's 3 & 4 are better yes, huge environments, but in terms of atmousphere.... i prefer Wan Chai to Kowloon. Yeah I agree, it does start a bit like Shenmue, but you are thrown into the action early though, eg. when wong steals ur bag! The Qte's are quite hard. Have you had the new type of QTE yet? If you have not, then good luck, they are harder. lol, i fell for the barber for the first 2 times! The carte job is the best, its the most well paid in Shenmue 2. However..... I often play 'Roll it on top', my fav Shenmue game, which is a dice gambling game. You can win mega bucks, if you bet all your money. my little tip... save before gambling, if u lose money, turn off the power and go back on, keep gambling till u win! EASY EH?????
It looks as if you are still in Wan Chai... im afraid there are no fighting areas in Wan Chai at all..... haev you met the Heavens yet? If so, in the harbour area with all the docked boats, there is a fight are nearby.. (if you can enter the gate neary the harbour with heavens written on it.. then tell me, and ill try and guide you to a fight area!)... if not, then im afraid ull have to be patient and wait till u get to the next area.

I am on Disc 2 and I have just arranged the pots in the Chawan Sign and I have just taken on the 3 guys in park who were looking for Yuanda Zhu. There are fight tournaments? That will be awesome! The Arm-Wrestling is very hard and they always beat me with in half a second, I won the first arm wrestle at the beginning of the game but I have lost 2 since then so I haven't bothered trying. I spar with the old man but he is impossible to hit and take power down so its a bit pointless for throwing moves but good for kicking and punching. I have $3 and I might go back to where Joy took you to lift those crates just to make a quick buck then I can gamble it on the fights and card games! Are CD's 3+4 better than 1+2? So far the game has taken the same route as Shenmue 1, CD 1 was more exploration and CD 2 is hotting up the action with a few more fights and QTE's. I must say, the QTE's are a lot harder in Shenmue 2 and as I bet most did, I fell for the barber trick and pressed A instead of leaving the pad! LOL, I thought there was something wrong with my game!
I hope there is a way to convert the save onto the Xbox hard drive! Maybe they could use Xbox live or a device that people can get hold of for when Shenmue 3 is released. It was worth getting an Xbox just to continue the story alone, picking up the Dreamcast when I did was a good idea as games on the Xbox at the moment are rather thin on the ground, but with christmas coming around I will be picking up Shenmue 2X even if it is jut for the English speech as unlike some I miss it!

--Unfortunately you cannot practice your moves in Shenmue 2, you cna only spar with that old man in Lotus park. You cant train on your own unfortunately.
You can earn money fighting, but it depends where in the game you are. Early on you cannot. Later on in Kowloon and in the harbour area can you earn money fighting. If you are early on in the game you can arm wrestle for money!!! Arm wrestling is the option early on, but each time you have a go it gets harder.

--Unfortunately you cannot practice your moves in Shenmue 2, you cna only spar with that old man in Lotus park. You cant train on your own unfortunately.
You can earn money fighting, but it depends where in the game you are. Early on you cannot. Later on in Kowloon and in the harbour area can you earn money fighting.
