Hats off to Sony unlike MS and Ninty they are there to make gaming affordable unlike the others who are only interested in profit.

Sony scored a big hit with the PS1 and platinum games, which were affordable quality games that had to sell a certain amount to turn platinum, while N64 was still trying to sell cartridges for £64.99 Sony's platinum range came in at £19.99 and proved a big hit.

I am glad to see they are carryiing on the tradition with there PS2 platinum range. I mean lets face it GT3 is a far superior game to Project Gotham and yet it is have the price. They say you have to pay for quality but on this evidence you don't.

You've just fallen into the trap. Out of all the ignorant responses you could have said, that was the worst.

So this is how you respond to real, rock solid fact eh? If it's true and you don't like it, you'll spout meaningless insults. Oh we're very persuaded.

Er.. the PS2 don't *own* these games. We could very well say they belong to the GameCube, but we're not fanboys. They belong just as much to the GameCube as the PS2, so you've got not argument there. Also, the majority of GameCube games are original.

Have you just made up those figures? Nintendo is really hot on the heels of the PS2 in Japan, there are more than 4 million GameCube owners in the world. And look at it this way, 4 million after two months is better than 32 million after 2-3 years.

I don't know if this has been posted cos i couldn't be arsed to read the entire topic.

Sony are interested in profit and you can tell that by one standing out fact.
If they can sell some games for 20 quid why don't they sell all their games for 20 quid

case closed just had to get that off my chest and now don't reply to fanboys post anymore

I think you'll find the the top 10 all formats is packed with GameCube games - Pikmin, Rogue Squadron, etc. Also, Splinter Cell's going to beat MGS2, GTA Vice City's going to beat GTA3, GT3 is just too realistic and games like Burnout are much better, a Medal Of Honour will be knocked out of the water by the new Perfect Dark game.

Oh, and your little 80% comment. IT'S BEEN OUT LONGER!!! How many times must we tell you? Of course the PS2 will be outselling the GameCube at the moment, it's had 2/3 years head start! Please, think your posts through first.

I happen to own a hardware store (not personally, it's a family business) and I can honestly tell you that the range of DVD players was £150 - £250. £150.00 would get you a fairly decent DVD player. Now, how good is the PS2 DVD player? Probably worse than the £150.00 ones back then but we'll use it as an example. So, do the maths and £129.99 + £150.00 £279.99, if that.

I meant to say an official memory card, but they cost near enough the same.

And since we are comparing prices, I got my PS2 a year after it launch, I got the console, with an extra joypad, 2 games and a DVD for £400. Now I got my GC 2 weeks ago which came with the console, and extra official pad, an official controller and 2 games for £210.

It was, amazingly, the GC which saved me more money, which I used to buy another game, while with my PS2, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I had to spend another £30 on a memory card.

Look! You're even boring yourself! So price matters does it? If you saw a game for £99.99 you'd buy it straight away because it has to be that good, does it? Do your homework! All PS2 rip-offs? That made me laugh! The PS2 doesn't *own* the games on it! If a developer made the same game for the GameCube that was on the PS2, it would still be a GameCube game. Also, what about Pikmin, Wave Race, Luigi's Mansion?? The list goes on...
