UB40 - Reggae from Birmingham blokes just isn't on
Bjork - Because she sounds like someone is trying to drive a car up her
Steps - I want to smash my fist into "H"'s face. Repeatedly
The Strokes - Because The Stooges and The MC5 did this years ago. And better
Aswad - I just remembered these clowns
Nickelback - Stupid songs and stupid hair.
Rock becomes trendy and then goes back underground.
Which is good because it weeds out the pretenders and imitators, if anyone thinks Papa Roach are going to be around in 5yrs then you have my pity.
But if only 5% of those that wear the clothes stay with the music then it's worthwhile.
So "the kids" can have Blink 182/Sum 41/Papa Roach/Nickelback and I'll keep my Soulfly, Led Zeppelin, Nailbomb, Clutch etc and we'll meet in the middle somewhere

It's certainly become a fashion statement now. The amount of kids that I've seen sporting a Kurt t-shirt or an Linkin' Park hoodie is strange, since a few years ago Rock/Metal was a dirty word and nobody wanted to know.
Since the inception of these poor imitators IMO, the genre has turned into a fad for many, but there are some who actually like the music, which has allowed them to open their eyes to a lot of other great bands who deserve to be heard.

Finally! Someone who shares the same views as me. Scott Strap is a w@nker. In 'Higher', 'My Sacrifice', 'Bullets' and 'One Last Breath' he was the hero, or acted like Messiah. He's such an egotist, it's unbelievable.

Agreed. I see 8-year-olds walking around with Korn shirts on and just think - what the hell? They probably don't even realise that Korn are a band for god's sake! Phff.

They've had one or two decent songs, like My Plague and Wait and Bleed, but that is all really.

Great metal songs, very heavy, excellent. Chop Suey, Toxicity and Aerials rule :)

I don't know why so many people mouth off about Nickelback. I mean, their album is the current top seller of 2002, it deserves some credit for that surely? I like Nickelback, but wish they were more heavy rock than soft, thenick rock.

I think they're Ok, but they sound too punky for my liking. Attitude just has no feeling to me at all, probably because of no hard rocking riffs, although Smooth Criminal and Movies are decent.

I like their riffs, very nice and punky, but not too much. Still, some of their songs are just too explicit to be nice...

Control and Blurry are good, but some are terrible, like Drift And Die etc. Might have to pick up their 'Come Clean' alb.

I love Staind! Every song I've heard from them is excellent, I won't put a bad word past them except they're on Fred Durst's record label, I believe, along with Puddle of Mudd.

Decent, but a bit too much Rap-Metal for me. Southtown and Alive are their best songs. Anyone else heard Boom, their latest single? Sucks...

Their older albs were better, as Chocolate Starfish is a pile of shate, with loads of rap crap from Redman etc. Has some catchy tracks though. I hate it that they became pop after Rollin and My Way though...

A cash-in. The gayest band in the world. Soon they'll be going on concert, I bet.

She's reasonably fit, but is sadly no longer a virgin :(

All pop sucks.

Read above.
DOWN WITH POP! I want Rock!
Bands trying to sound like other bands I sort of understand - I mean we're all influenced whether it be obvious or not but what we listen to. What worries me more is the kind of people that BUY these records knowing full well its a poor imitation of the real thing. OK age may have something to do with it, but the kids are still wearing Kurt t-shirts nowadays who would have been about 5 when Nirvana were around.. is it just a fashion statement? Maybe they just all go home and put on Linkin Bizkit...

What can I say - I know what I like. ^_^
I didn't see POM do a cover of an AIC song. Glad I didn't now. It would've sent the blood boiling.
As for Creed. I remember reading an article on Mark Tromonti (sp?) about being voted the Best Guitarist in this particular publication. Never have I read an article that that was bloated with arrogance.
Surely if he was *that* good, he wouldn't need to rip-off Pearl Jam. And upon hearing their new single release 'Bullets' they've only gone and ripped-off Tool this time.
What angers me is that half of these pansy Nu-Metal bands are getting rich off a sound that was around 10 years ago.

I like the cut of your jib.
Did you see POM doing an AIC cover on RE:Covered? They did 'Brother' off the SAP EP and tore it to pieces.
As for Creed - dont even get me started. Why are american rock bands still trying to be like PJ circa 1992? Jeez I mean at least PJ evolved!

I beg to differ, they scream down microphones encased in rubber playing 'heavy' rock.

As somebody else has said they always have this same bit about 3/4 of the way through making their songs sound too similar. Also the lead singer looks like a model off a hair colour advert with serious addiction problems.
