Jovovich plays 'Alice Ocampo', totally unrelated to the game, but I swear the surname bears resemblance to another Zombie film, I just can't remember which.

It was hardly faithful to the film (just look at the characters) - the licker looked different to the game near the end, yet the end scene was very reminscent of the end of Resident Evil 2.

A good film, I loved the lazer scene, and when Rain (Rodriguez) held her hand over the edge of the pipe and squeezed the blood out, I just cracked up at the zombies :D

I'm downloading the DVD version now. I'll get it on R2 when it comes out (September/October hopefully :D).

For all you NUTTERS who say it wasn't like the game - it wasn't meant to be! It had the same settings and idea but thats it. There was no Chirs or Jill in the film because the story isn't taken from the game, just the idea and settings, you must understand the difference.

As for the film itself - what a load of cack. The zombies were rubbish due to there make-up consisting of some blue eye liner and some scraps from a butchers and the SFX were from the 1920's. The film thinks because it has Korn and Slipknot in the soundtrack that people will love it.........apparantly it's working.

Watch Dawn of the Dead, made 20 years earlier and probably 20 times better.

Final some sane people. Er-no and Resevil fan. And he's meant to be a fan of Resident Evil! I rest my case.

You're probably under 15 though and therefore think it's cool because you've seen it unlike other people your age, been there done that. ;-)

Crap film.

Really really bad, only thing that made it worth while was the fact I got in for free and the zombies made funny fly-catching movements.

CRAP film. Didn't even follow the game, second film should be better, budget just received for it.

:(

I didn't think it was that faithful to the game. Only the ending and zombies gave me the feeling this was related to Resident Evil.

If you think it's that great, maybe you should watch a few more films. I rate so many films more than this one. THe only good thing about this one was Mila Jokonvich (sorry can't spell her name).

Without her it was pants. The storyline was totally unrealistic even for a science fiction film. I just expected so much more from it and it didn't deliver. Although the laser scene was quite funny, although I think that was meant to be scary... come on please, bits of skin falling off in chunks. It looked totally unrealistic.

I agree!!! Although it was about as good as it gets for a Film Four production, the special effects were dodgey in some of the scenes. Overall it was not a bad effort and very faithfull to the game certainly not a bad as Tomb Raider and considering the budget difference that has to be complimented.
