The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
After the recent trivial banning of a forum member for posting a made-up software serial number, fellow posters were said to be "shocked and horrified" at the apparent disregard for the large number of young people that use the site.
The URLs in question provide links to numerous pornography sites on the internet, some of which offer free hardcore 'sample' pictures to encourage people to sign up. There are also links to sites featuring gay sex, as well as illegal activities such as bestiality.
One user, a Mr. W. Monster, told us, "It's really quite a shock to see them there. Considering the number of posts containing similar URLs that have been deleted over the years, and the people that have been banned for making those posts, you'd think the News Monkey would know better. I understand that it's news, but I believe they could have made the article without referring to the sites by name."
The banned user, Mr. G. Mask - who has since been reinstated due to public pressure - was unavailable for comment, but was said to be locked away in a safe house, shaking his head vigorously in disbelief.
Other users across the UK who campaigned for Mr. Mask's reinstatement have been seen wandering the streets with astonished looks on their faces, mumbling phrases like 'outrageous' and 'double standards'.
It is understood that the staff at SR Towers have now been notified, and it remains to be seen what action - if any - will be taken over the offending article.
We'll bring you more news as this story unfolds.
