Best developer - Rare.

That's my opionion anyway. If Rare joined Sony there would be a lot of games I'd want to buy...

OK quack you stupid fool. Rare have never made a game for the PS2. Only for Nintendo recently. Anyway, getting back to the topic, the best ON THE PS2 has to be Konami. Pro Evolution, MEtal Gear Solid 2, Silent Hill series, nuff said.

I like RPGs alot so there really is only one company who makes outstonding rpg games and series, SQUARESOFT ( or is now squarearts,cuz they joined with electronic arts? ) KONAMI have my respect for SILENT HILL series ( number 3 due out soon ) METAL GEAR SOLID and PRO EVO series.
CAPCOM are also a briiliant company as they are the masters of ACTION/ADVENTURE/HORROR games with Dino Crisis , Devil May , Onimushu plus the Resident Evil series. I dont think there is one super company but companies which excel in selected genres like 3DO for they ,em,Army Men series :)
SEGA also have mucho respect from me producing such games as SHENMUE , PHANTSAY STAR ONLINE , a slew of arcade conversions , Crazy Taxi , Sega bass , etc and not forgetting SONIC?!

One of my favorite companies is ACTIVISION. I dont really know why, I just like them. Most of my favourite PSX games are made by Activision although I dont have many for the PS2.

Rare, Nintendo and Konami. Shame PS2 owners don't get to play games by 2 of the best developers. Ahh well, there's always Gamecube.

Just class them under SCEE. And haven't Infogrames been taken over by Atari now? I'm not sure on that one, but all the Infogrames games like V rally and Stuntman are under Atari branding now. hmmm...

Rockstar for the awesome GTA3, MaX Payne and the 'not so awesome' State of Emergency.

Squaresoft for FFX, obviously.

Konami and KOEI for producing both Metal Gear 2 and ZOE. And for making MGS: Substance, and the truly awesome spectacle that is ZOE2!

INFOGRAMES have really picked themselves up with V-Rally 3.

Oh, and Mr. NatBuc forgot 'Team Soho'!!!!!. I mean, they only produced the best footy game (until PES) and are only producing its successor.
